Fast, honest and kind. Took my work van to a different company first and they told me $3300 to replace my entire front steering system to fix my issue of the steering wheel shaking back and forth slightly while braking. Took it to Bulldog Automotive for a second opinion and found out it was only warped rotors and they took care of it same day for a fraction of the price. Drives perfectly now.

I can’t say enough good things about Bulldog Automotive! I’ll admit, I’m pretty cautious when it comes to the care of my car & where I take it. Earlier this year they helped install new tires on my vehicle and I cannot thank them enough for the quality of care they put into the install. Their team was incredibly friendly and we’re so welcoming when I reached out to schedule my service. I am so thankful to have a local shop that I fully trust.

Bulldog Automotive is TOP NOTCH! We live over an hour away and our transmission went out while traveling on I-74. It’s a long story, but the short story is these guys are honest and they will not try to “sell” you a repair that’s not necessary. We ended up picking our Honda Oddysey up with a truck and trailer. I asked them what I owe, and they said nothing at all. I gave them what cash I had on hand, but please anyone reading this just get your vehicle serviced here. They are an ELITE auto repair shop!

This place is a total scam. Charged $225 bucks for AC recharge and $275 for various diagnostics. The only thing fixed is my steering knock which was priced at $90-$150. Okay, thanks.
But today i went to another shop and had my AC recharged - it was never this cold after visiting bulldog. It looks like my AC works fine and these guys at Bulldog simply did not do anything to refill my AC.
They blatantly lied to my face throwing words like evacuated, recharged with oil and the guy at the desk said that temp went down by 2F. They grabbed my $225 bucks and did nothing to fix my AC issue - it was empty and not even refilled.

Other place actually did the recharge and now my AC is freezing cold as it supposed to be. If you are not from their friends list get ready to be hosed and lied.

You cannot go wrong with this team. They are friendly, good humored and patient no matter how silly your question! Scott & Tim are amazingly helpful and thorough. Jen makes the lobby experience engaging. I’ve been using them for a year now and every service has been spot on, as promised, on time and at an affordable price. Give them a chance to smooth your ride!

The whole gang at bulldog is a pleasure to do business with. Brought my Tahoe in for a whole brake line replacement. Staff was very knowledgeable and very courteous. They had my car ready as soon as the part came in and now my brakes are like new

Mechanics are great, but man on the desk overcharged me by $150. Manager-cashier tries to upsell services which results in additional costs - they try to search for lots of hidden issues in your car and forget to mention that you have to pay their regular going rate for this exercise.
The issue is that I didn't ask those things to be fixed, but the things that I asked to fix were not addressed.

I have a sense that manager is trained to be in the business of selling diagnostics - that is when you still pay those $90-$150 an hour for searching any mythical problems but without the actual fix.

For example, I asked to replace brake pads and rotors, but was told that they are fine. 2 days later almost crashed downhill in West Virginia because i couldn't stop my car - warped rotors badly vibrated which i explicitly mentioned to address bulldog in writing at the time of my visit.

On the way back across the country for a road trip they totally saved us! I am gonna buy a new truck in California and plan to drive it to Illinois just to see these guys! & I live in Colorado!

These are some of the nicest, and most knowledgeable mechanics I've met. I was coming back from Delaware heading to Colorado when we started breaking down and they helped as soon as possible to get us on the road and the price was more than fair. I also got a very comprehensive break down of what they found and what they did to fix the issues. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

A while back, another shop quoted me $2,000 for a lot of work I didn't need. I took the car to Bulldog and they replaced the only thing that actually need replacing, a wheel bearing, for somewhere around $350. Everyone here is so kind and knowledgeable.

I was a potential out of state buyer for one of the local cars and arranged for pre-purchase inspection. Scott and his team were very thorough in evaluating the vehicle I was interested in buying. Scott went through the areas of concern one by one with me over the phone, and presented repair options. I am very pleased with their expertise and grateful for their patience.

I’m always amazed by the high level of service from every single person at Bulldog. I’ve taken our cars to them for years and have never been disappointed. They give honest advice, fair pricing and better quality work than the dealers. Highly recommended!

Our daughter was due to drive back to college and had suspension issues with her car that needed repaired. Bulldog Auto was able to fit us in to the schedule,repaired the issues that another shop had not done correctly. They are professional and very reasonable. We are extremely satisfied and highly recommend.

I've been going to Bulldog Automotive since it opened in its last location. I've had work done on a total of 6 vehicles, everything from an oil change to an air conditioner compressor replacement. Scott and his staff at Bulldog Automotive do an excellent job.

Based on a recommendation I took my vehicle to Scott when Bulldog Automotive was at their old location a couple years ago. Been taking my vehicle to him ever since. Local, honest, friendly and has been willing to help me even when there was no monetary benefit to him. He lives by the golden rule... treat others the way you want to be treated. Trustworthy, dependable and with the extra bays and lifts at their new location they can offer even more services.

Lengthy but worth the read! We had been yanked around by a well known shop in the Champaign area when our Grand Cherokee needed "exhaust work" to fix the noise issue we were having. Then after that didn't fix the issue, we were told it needed a new engine entirely and it would be over $11,000 to maybe fix the issues, we immediately started calling around to find a second shop to look it over.

My mother and father in law have gone to Bulldog for years and told us to call them up and see what they could do. So, after a quick call, we trailered the Jeep and took it from the shop we wont name to Mahomet.

You guys, they were so helpful and honest from the start. Had us come into the shop to listen and see what was happening and explained everything throughout the two + months it was there. (Waiting on parts during a pandemic, not their fault AT ALL) We ended up needing a new hemi, they were able to find one even though our engine was almost impossible to find due to shortages. They also corrected the work the previous shop had done, which entailed swapping the incorrect parts that were put in for the correct ones. All for under $8,500 when it was all said and done.

Fast forward 2 months and the Jeep was back because another shop in Champaign didn't fill the oil properly and caused multiple sensors to go off and malfunction. After getting nowhere with that shop, Bulldog handled it professionally and we got the Jeep back to where it needed to be.

We will never take our vehicles anywhere else. There is a reason this place is booked out consistently.

From the staff to the owners and the facility itself, taking your vehicles here is absolutely worth it.

Friendly staff, quality service. I took my car in for some highway shaking it had been experiencing. The previous mechanic I took it to fixed the non highway shaking, but never bothered to fix the high speed issues. Bulldog fixed the issue and was very communicative duing the process to let me know what parts and services I'd need. They were very thorough and transparent with the issues and solutions. I've definitely found my go-to mechanic.
