I’ve gone to CarMax quite a few times over the past 20+ years and have always had positive experiences. I sold 2 vehicles to CarMax, most recently my elderly mother’s car. They paid my mom way more than we could have imagined, not to mention more than any dealership or private purchaser would have paid.

Last month, I was in an auto accident and my SUV was totaled. I was in the market for a new-to-me vehicle and although I went to Naperville CarMax only to look, I found a great car at a great price and bought it on the spot. I added an extended warranty for much less than I would’ve paid at a regular dealership, and my vehicle even came with free roadside assistance! I explained to the salesman that I would be receiving a check from the insurance company for my totaled vehicle within a few days and wanted to know the best way to go about payment. The salesman said we could put the balance on finance, and I’d have a week to come in and pay it off without accruing any interest. When I came in to pay it off, the process was extremely easy and quick.

A week after having the vehicle, my tire completely shredded while on the expressway. It was ripped to pieces. Upon bringing it back to CarMax and explaining that I didn’t feel safe with the current tires, they replaced all 4 tires with new BF Goodrich tires at no cost. The service staff were friendly and helpful. They called me throughout the week to update me on the tire order as well, and once the tires came in, I was able to get my car in immediately for them to put the new tires on.

I couldn’t be happier with CarMax or my new-to-me vehicle, the service I received, the ease of doing business with them, and definitely the price!

I have recommended CarMax to many people and will continue to do so.

I wasn't sure what to expect. Every car buying/selling experience I've had is some sort of contest. This was as easy and pain free as can be. I was in and out in 45 minutes. After inspecting my car and receiving the payoff quote from my bank my online offer to purchase was honored and I left with a check. Now I'm spoiled. I will recommend CarMax to anyone who wants to know about it.

I have never had better experience buying a car period! Got more than I expected for my trade. I had a pleasure to work with Tim Anderson, great guy! We had a brief talk and I told Tim what would take for me to walk out of there with the truck that I liked very much. Sure enough we quickly made a deal, no haggling at all! Lovely lady Zaria finished paperwork quickly with the smile on her face . CarMax knows how to take care of the customer. I will recommend them to anyone I know for selling or buying a car.

Jim met us at the desk just inside the front door. We came with a good idea of what we were looking for, and he listened to what we shared, found matching inventory, answered questions and gave us the room to test drive and make decisions without any pressure. We found what we were looking for, which was better than what had in mind when we started. This was an excellent experience from start to finish.

We did the Express Pick-Up. Visit was smooth, 15min total and our sales rep was personable and knowledgeable. Car and price was just as described - no bait and switch. The entire purchase took less than an hour overall. Amazing! The last time I bought a car at a well known dealer, it took 4hrs! I’m a customer for life!

We reserved a couple of vehicles before we got to the Naperville CarMax and they were ready for test drives as soon as we arrived! We ultimately did purchase a vehicle that same day! We were very happy with the purchase and we were literally in and out of CarMax under 2 hours! Our Salesman (I think his name was Adam) helped navigate us through all the paperwork in a streamlined fashion and was very knowledgeable and informative! Very good supply of clean, newer model vehicles to choose from! Would Definitely recommend CarMax in Naperville!

I was there with my 85 year old father who was selling his car because he can no longer drive. I had recently sold my vehicle through Carmax and had shared with him your painless process and fair pricing.

We were in and out in about an hour. He enjoyed the comfortable surroundings and was impressed by the speed at which everything was completed.

For an elderly person who can now no longer drive, the thought of going through a private sale process was very unappealing to him.

Carmax provided him a safe and speedy alternative. The customer service was also outstanding. Everyone was friendly.

Went to sell my car. The Business Office was very helpful and friendly. Made for a smooth experience. Jemeise (not sure I got her name spelled right) was a delight to work with . Made sure we understood all the paperwork. This is the second time I have sold my car through Car Max and would recommend this to anyone.

Despite being very busy, Al, our salesperson, was friendly, knowledgeable accommodating and easy to work with. Buying a car an be a nerve wracking experience but Al made it less so and my wife and I are grateful for his professional style. Well done!

Found the car I wanted on line. Car max had it shipped to the Naperville store. There were a couple of minor things that needed to be resolved. Carmax took care of the issues and gave me a really nice loaner car while the issues were addressed which only took one day. I will definitely be a repeat customer as the whole process was great from beginning to end.

Experience was great! Staff was friendly. So much easier than trying to sell my car with services like Wheelzy who say they have a guaranteed offer then try to lowball you for mentioning cold weather it’s good for car batteries.

Overall it was a very nice experience.

I had an appt for 3/4 7:00 pm, unfortunately I wasn’t able to be seen until about 7:45ish PM. That is the only negative portion of the review.

I found the car online on Thursday (3/2) & the car was delivered (free of charge) to the Naperville location. I was called around 11-ish on Monday 3/4 that the car was ready to be driven / purchased.

I worked with Al, he was very kind. Quiet, to the point & straightforward. The process was painless, easy and simple. At no point did I feel pressure, rushed or obligated to do anything. From introduction to driving away, Al had me in and out in about 50 minutes.

Our salesperson Al was very helpful in finding us a vehicle that fit our needs and budget. He coordinated a vehicle delivery from another location. We purchased the vehicle through our business, and Al and Susy in the Business Office made sure everything was squared away for us.
