Cape Pier Chowder House

A very cool place to eat incredible seafood in a laid back setting. Outside is peaceful and calming with boats gently bobbing in the water.
I got the chowder with the intention of returning in 40 minutes for something more substantial. It was incredibly slow and rainy so they closed a little early which I totally support. I would call though to ensure they are open before heading out.
The people who work here are really nice and the food looks amazing but the only thing I actually tried was the haddock chowder. Very good

Everything was delicious. From the strip clams, to clam cakes. lobster roll was good, fresh, and clam chowder was delicious. Atmosphere was amazing, loved the summer coastal vibes and the view 10/10. Will be back with family and friends.

Great inconspicuous-feeling spot in Cape Porpoise to grab some simple, quick but fresh seafood meals, snacks, and shareable plates. Yummy and filling chowder by the cup or bowl for small prices. I asked for their most popular or best recommendation, which was their fish and chips plate, where I added a chowder, all to share with my partner. It was nice and filling, not too salty and just perfectly fried for crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Came with tartar. Drinks are self-serve. Best spot eat semi-outdoors (there was a tent over the picnic tables) with a view on the cove, possibility to walk on the lobster fishing docks and see the lighthouse on Goat Island in the distance.

Stopped in for lunch. Parking is available but often full ...so you may need to park down the street a ways. You order inside at the counter and then they bring your food to you when it's ready. Prices are very reasonable for the Kennebunkport area. We enjoyed the senior portion Fish and Chips plate and split a Coke. Fries are delicious and fish is mild and fresh. Condiments are provided. Restrooms are available. They have a wide range of seafood to choose from and staff are pleasant.I felt like I got lucky to stumble into this local place. Dog friendly.

Great food, great location, welcoming staff!!! Food was served quickly!!! I had the local steamers, a cup of seafood chowder, and a local IPA (all great). My husband had the crab cakes (great as well)!!!

Good place for seafood. Prices can get expensive but service is good with a good view. Show up earlier for dinner due too minimum parking lot space around 6 and 7 pm. Great beach glass spot on rocks near water.

Seafood always taste better less than 20' from the water. How it's supposed to be.
Lobster was amazing in all forms. Boiled, fried platter, and in a roll! Great service and the atmosphere is perfect for an early dinner! Great selection and great service!

Holy mother ! Such an awesome discovery !! For a few years I thought nothing could beat “The Fisherman’s Catch” but I stand corrected!

The fried scallops are just perfect!! It was greatest, thinnest breading I have ever seen on scallops; and it was delicious! As for the chowder and Lobster roll, they were also the best I tasted ever! Seriously; not joking, we loved it.

The biggest challenge however is parking; it’s extremely limited onsite; maybe 10-15 spots but half is they day they are reserved for the fisherman. You can park along the road, but there not that many spots as well. This being said; you have to go and try it for yourself; you’ll be delighted!

If you want one of the most spectacular dining experiences in Maine, do try this place! The staff makes you feel like you're the only customer even when they are up to their ears in customers! The seafood is expertly prepared and served with a smile! They are also very pooch friendly, so Winston was thrilled with his order of bacon! We will be back!!

Delicious seafood and great views! Very reasonable market prices for fresh caught (daily) seafood. Large outdoor seating area, and pay upfront system. Kid friendly! They offer high chairs and a kids menu including chicken fingers and grilled cheese.

This is a great little place to get some chowder, seafood, and a craft beer to enjoy while sitting on their deck looking at the exquisite harbor view. Parking may be a challenge depending on when you go, so consider going early-ish (11:30) to have a better chance of nabbing a parking spot. There is limited parking along the narrow road, but best to avoid that if you can.

The food, service, and view are perfect! The fish was so amazingly fresh and so was the calamari. Prices are just right and they give you such large portions you won’t be hungry after for a good while. Seriously, this place is a must try on your next trip to Maine!

Authentic! This is the place you want to eat seafood and enjoy everything! Dig into your freshly caught/cooked lobster and don't worry about being messy! Picnic tables outside offer an incredible view of the harbour, fresh air -unless you sit at the very back :( - and shade. The food: lobster, crab cakes, chowders, fries, slaw, can be enjoyed with wine/beer/iced tea etc. This is the real thing for really good seafood done really well.

The classic Maine seafood house experience. Haddock sandwich was big and delicious. Seafood chowder was full to the brim with lobster, scallops, and clams. Crab cake was huge and stuffed with crab. Absolutely delicious, gorgeous location. Busy spot, but if you can get in, it's a great experience!

Hidden gem. Beautiful fall view from dock dining area. Excellent fried clams. Not fancy, great food. Reasonably priced.

Casual dining. Indoor and outdoor seating. Wait staff moves quickly so stand where they ask you to so you don't interfere with their traffic pattern 😁
