Were driving through the area and looking for an authentic, quick seafood restaurant. We found Susan’s. The atmosphere is casual, picnic tables and rustic mariner.

Ordered fish chowder and seafood chowder for starters. The soup was good, buttery and not a thick cream soup. Lots of fish and seafood.

We ordered scallops - they were excellent although, on a special diet because of a recent surgery, I asked if they could be grilled and although there was a grill, they said no. I tried to pick the batter off and couldn’t. So, my hubby ate them but the taste I did get - they were delicious. Sweet and fresh.

Husband got the lobster roll. It was filled with lots of meat and butter drizzled over it. He enjoyed it on a hogey bun. Left lots of the bun and ate the meat. Was so good.

French fries were fresh. Nicely fried.

Service was good overall. Just the cashier taking the order seemed annoyed that I’d ask for anything different. They weren’t super busy at the time either. So, that was the downside. The food was great though.

I had lunch here and it tasted great! The staff worked well together. They were inviting and efficient I recommend to anyone who likes seafood. The chowder was top notch!

Our first lobstah rolls....yummy! Clam chowder was amazing and Susan has free coffee.... Can't think of the last time a restaurant offered free coffee. Root beer was flavorful. Onion rings were the best we ever had ... homemade batter that wasn't greasy. Will eat there again when visiting the area!

Brought my own fillets in from a charter and highly recommend! Just make sure it’s got no skin or bones and they’ll fry it up for you! Got coleslaw and large fries too and tarter and was good price! Thanks again! Staff rocks too! Try the deep fried banana split ice cream too!

Great Value!! Very cool atmosphere and offer a lot for a little. We loved our fish and chips, chowdah, and crab cakes.

Very laid back and great service with good food to match.

Don't let the outside cause you pause. Well worth adventuring in for a bite. I loved the inside so much we decided to stay and eat instead of take out. I just wanted to soak it in.

This place is in a converted garage. Parking is very limited. Seating is "family style" so you'll be sitting with new friends. The bulk of the menu is deep fried. On weekends they offer deep fried lobster! Yummy. All of the food is very tasty, hands down. A few times we tried to go but parking was impossible. Be persistent, however, it'll be worth it.

Friendly staff. Fresh seafood is weighed then breaded and fried upon your order. Free coffee is not a lie. Ample portions. Parking out front and seating both inside and out. I'll be back again in a month for a follow up. 5 stars!

Eaten excellent fish-n-chips menu. The restaurant makes an unimpressive impression from the outside, but the food is really very good. Only the fries were a bit too dark.

A little out of the way, but the food is very good. Service is top notch. Don’t go there for the decor though, as it’s part of an old garage, but definitely go there for the food.

We had the fish and chips kids meal. The fish was very fresh and super juicy. The lobster roll was good. There’s no mayo in the lobster. Just a little butter on the roll. The onion rings are also very fresh and sweet. Finally, we liked the clam chowder more than the one we had earlier in the day at The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport.

Vast menu, quick service, and my food was freshly prepared and delivered to my table.

Cool atmosphere and good tunes further enhanced the experience.

There are several picnic tables inside which add to the casual vibe.

Highly recommend for their seafood!

Go here. Don’t wait. There are not many places like this left. Many places try to be everything to everyone and fail at all of it. This place doesn’t stray from what it knows and because of that, they serve some of the freshest and tastiest seafood I’ve had.

We had the clam chowder, the seafood platter and scallops. The seafood platter has clams, scallops, baby shrimp and what they call haddock nuggets. What most places would call haddock “nuggets”, would be scraps, battered and fried. That’s not his place! These were large pieces of haddock, 3 to 4 bites, of perfectly battered freshly cooked haddock filet.

Everything was fresh with the lightest batter, giving it a perfect crunch without the excessive batter you see in places that serve frozen junk. You could also tell that the oil that was used was changed regularly. That makes such a difference in the taste of the fish. Clean oil doesn’t give you that heavy feeling when you eat it. Everything here tasted light and fresh.

The clam chowder was creamy and hot but not too heavy, and filled with pieces of clam and chunks of potato. It was perfect.

The scallops were some of the sweetest and most tender I have ever had. Scallops are my favorite and I would have put these up against any I have ever had before. I’m really not a big fried shrimp fan, but even the shrimp were delicious and I ate them all! And the fried clams were reminiscent of my childhood going down the Cape. They were salty and crunchy, but with the lightest batter, so the flavor of the clam came through.

This place makes its home in a converted automotive garage. But don’t let the simple and nostalgic surroundings fool you. This place is fighting well above its weight. Everything here was delicious. The fries were hot and delicious. And the cole slaw was fresh and the perfect compliment to the savory fish.

The staff here is amazing. If you ask for tartar sauce or cocktail sauces, you get the whole bottle! You can even bring you own fish and they will cook it for you for $5.00! It is byob, so if you want a frosty beverage with your lobster roll or fried clams, bring it along.

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Susan, and her niece. They are fantastic people who make it easy to understand how a place this good still exists in a sea of mediocrity. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Susan's serves up good seafood that's both tasty and fresh and they got a friendly crew.

We ordered a bunch of stuff from them, their seafood chowdah is definitely worth a try and perhaps gets less attention than their other items so thought I'd mention it here.

The group dug into the food so didn't get any pictures in time, but have a few interior shots of the place.

$10 off for going on my birthday, so I decided to try the clams with some (free) coffee!

I was NOT disappointed 😋 🍽 I've been here a few times and it's always been a positive experience. Nice staff, great food, generous portions!

This place is the best fried fish sandwich you can sync your teeth into. They have a great special on Mondays and Tuesdays just for nobody even comes close to stellar fried fish sandwiches with lettuce and tartar for three bucks Drop the Mic.

I love Susan's! It's a little hard to see from the road, since it's literally in the left hand side of an auto garage, but the place is phenomenal....plus where else can you go with a cleaned fish where they'll cook it for you!? Polite staff, and always seem to make me smile.

We were in Maine for a week and couldn't leave before trying some fish and chips.
Susan's Fish & Chips hit the spot for us! The melt-in-your-mouth, flaky fish and crispy batter, with the house tarter sauce and a splash of malt vinegar it was the perfect bite.
You won't be disappointed!

Worth the visit. The food is delicious. The prices are very fair for the quality. Very unassuming frontage, but I wasn't there for the ambiance. If you are looking for seafood, check this place out. A local favorite. If I could give 6 stars for the fish sandwich, I would.
