Great value for the price. I was in Minneapolis for the weekend for leisure travel. I wanted some place inexpensive since this trip was planned on short notice. Free parking and free coffee! The staff was nice, not super friendly, but nice which is still a good thing. The hotel itself was clean as well as the room. No issue at all with my stay. I rented a car and drove to most attractions.

Hotel was clean and safe and quiet. Staff was extremely friendly and warm and welcoming. Rooms had more amenities than I'm used to. Location was perfect. I will definitely stay again if I need to.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All was clean, loved the kitchenette! Quick and easy to get places around town, easy to find too. And the coffee machine in the lobby is awesome, your own mini Starbucks!

Wonderful stay in a beautifully restored U of M landmark hotel. Expect a warm welcome, great conversation, and excellent service from an Assistant General Manager and Housekeeping Manager who genuinely care about their guests. Even the General Manager took the time to personally ensure satisfaction, demonstrating a truly above and beyond approach. Don't miss out on lodging that's both close to campus and affordable. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

This was a very different type of Inn, for me. It was like I was sharing a building with college students. Ha haa!
But the attendants was so nice and it was so easy to get what I needed from her and him. It was weird that you couldn't just walk in without getting buzzed in if you were trying to check in.
But the rooms were so nice and comfy. Even in the cold November, my sisters that stayed with me, had the AC on and the blankets were so super comfy and warm that I couldn't even feel the cold.
The rooms come with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink and dishes. SWEET!!
I'll definitely go back there if I'm ever going back to any events in dinky town.

This is a nice little place when visiting The U of M. A car ride / Uber to everything, but free parking. Interesting coffee machine. I know - machine - just try it! It’s huge with tons of options. Winter rates are better than summer - I don’t know why? Good value. This is not a five star motel - I just like the small clean independents.

The University Inn is much more than the two star hotel listed here. My stay was great! Staff is welcoming. Property is clean and has new amenities. I'm astounded by how well taken care of this place is. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Excellent value! Very clean and comfortable, updated hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Our choice for Minneapolis, good walking neighborhood, close to dining, easy access to downtown. In the last couple of months, we've had two amazing 3 night stays here.

Front Desk was top notch. The beds and rooms where clean and comfy. Well worth the price for a nice quiet place to stay. Close to events (if you are willing to do some walking). Would stay again.

Rhonda was amazing at check in! She was more professional than anyone at a luxury hotel. This place is underated and clean and just as good as anywhere else in downtown Minneapolis. Brilliant! I will definitely stay again!

This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is a great deal in a prime location. The room is clean, quiet and if you are looking for a nice place to sleep while you enjoy what the city has to offer, this is the place. Walking distance to U of M and many quaint student oriented ammenities (bars, unique shoos and inexpensive restaurants). Having a kitchennete was nice. It is a short drive into the heart of the city (you could walk the 2 miles tand save on parking which is FREE at the inn. If you want a full service upscale hotel this is not the place for you. The staff are helpfil and we would certainly return.

I stayed here for work at University of Minnesota Hospital. Very good location, waking distance from many restaurants and a Target. A HUGE cost savings compared to the other hotels in the area and the rooms were still pretty nice. No breakfast, pool, fitness center, etc. though. I stayed here because everything else was booked out or overpriced but I would probably stay here again next time I'm in town.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you come inside you see a while different building. It seems meant renovated and the receptionists are really friendly. Guest lobby even has games to play to pass the times.

Stayed a couple nights here while getting treatment at University of Minnesota. It was affordable and close by. Close to the highway too which was a plus in my eyes. I would recommend this place if you are in a similar situation. It's also close to the college stadiums so if you're staying for the sports it's not a bad choice.

Nice hotel and very good service! Tips: free coffee in the lobby. Also we got a room with a tiny kitchen, we were really pleased with that.

This is one of the best deals price-wise you'll find near the UMN. Clean and on a corner with a few bus routes. Kitchenette is helpful. I booked about 1.5 weeks in advance for $85/night (2 people), but you can get it cheaper if you look ahead of time.

Internet isn't good - tether your phone or something. Or ask the staff. I didn't bother b/c I was only there 2 days. It's probably fine if you use the ethernet cable they provide.

Great little place, especially for extended stay. Kitchenette is a great bonus. WiFi a little week but overall this is a great place for the money. Staff is great too.
