Rainbow Chinese Restaurant, Carry-out and Catering

First time eating here. My wife and I were happy we chose this place out of a whim. The atmosphere is really chill and laid back. The service was friendly and quick. I’m almost certain that we had received our food maybe 10 mins after ordering. The Szechuan Wontons and Cream Cheese Wontons were both very delicious. Our entrees were fantastic! We’re definitely coming back when we make our way up to Minneapolis.

The restaurant could not be more gorgeous. The savory turnip cakes made my heart so happy and were the talk of the table. I also got the Saturn in Rabbit and can't recommend their cocktails enough. This is one of my new favorite go-to spots

I grabbed take out and everything was great. I ordered the chocolate wontons, Szechuan wontons, wonton noodle soup, chicken with black bean sauce and lo mein, and shrimp fried rice. The portions are huge and everything was fresh and flavorful.

It should be illegal for food to be this good! We got some takeout and it was absolutely indescribably amazing, The most lovely people and atmosphere and its safe to say its gonna become a tradition! Thank you so much guys! (pictured; wonton soup, beef chow fun, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons)

Though the weather outside was bitter cold, inside Rainbow Chinese is a garden of delight. Chef/Owner Tammy Wong’s Rainbow Chinese is a gift to Minneapolis, a must-experience destination. My noodle soup sparkled with the brightest herbs and vegetables, I’m convinced there’s no fatter egg roll on the planet and the shrimp w/walnuts and cream is absolutely dreamy.
I met a friend there this evening to both celebrate her birthday and mourn the recent passing of her beloved Grandmother. We picked Rainbow because of the food but also the warmth of service and embracing atmosphere. I love Rainbow.

My son and I decided to get a pickup order from Rainbow Chinese for lunch earlier. They got the order perfect and man, it's so delicious! This place is such a gem. I highly recommend it!

At long last, after a trying first couple years of a pandemic, we were finally invited by the host, to engage in a calm and serene atmosphere, surrounded by koi and architectural design fitting to modernity and simplicity, elegant style and beauty.

The beef chow fun is silky, savory, a mouthfeel of scallions, ginger, and garlic, enough to languish in its feast and then land in abundant flavor.

The curry, also a mouthful of savory delight, and voted, in our opinion, number one in Minneapolis-St Paul.

Not all chocolate wontons are equal. This one is a delicate malty cocoa and good to the last savory moment on your tongue.

Lastly, the host treated us to the house papaya, fresh lobes bathing in its aromatic juices.

I've been a regular customer of theirs for decades. I compare all Chinese restaurant food to theirs. Can't get enough of it.

I love the noodle soups, gai-lan with oyster sauce. There's a cold tofu with cilantro & sauces appetizer I've never seen anywhere else that is wonderful. They have a gingerale - I think it's club soda & cola with fresh ginger & maybe ginger something with bitters. Yum. They also have a full bar.

Whatever the dish, their take on it is above & beyond.

Tammy is Amazing! She catered for my event and I cannot say enough about her. She is so sweet and her food is delicious! I loved the Pineapple chicken so much

I had such a lovely evening at Rainbow! The food was so good that I packed things up so that I would have room for dessert. Tammy is an incredible hostess and has created a beautiful restaurant and delicious menu. I look forward to the next time I'm in Minneapolis, so that I can eat here again!

The beef chow fun was a standout, and the dessert wontons were PERFECT. You could definitely have a filling meal for 20-30 dollars, but it's worth it to spend a little more and get a couple dishes.

The food here is truly excellent and the restaurant itself is very cute. Eggrolls here are a must have and if you come during happy hour they are only $3 each! Can't wait to come back

I've been itching to try this place and tonight I stopped by with my sister on a whim. Arrived at 5pm and things were just picking up. By 5:30 the place was packed! We were blown away by the amazing interior. Beautiful decor, cozy atmosphere, and a gorgeous fish tank. The staff was professional. The veggie dumplings were addicting. We tried two different big soup bowls (Chicken & Kale and Vegetable Mai Fun) - refreshing, delicious, and healthy. We also shared a pot of Evening in Missoula tea. We are definitely going back!

My family has been coming here for 20+ years and has celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones.The food is always spectacular! Service is always awesome! I am so happy they arevopen again for dine in again! Even if it is limited.

Visiting Mpls, nothing better than catching up on Grace & Frankie with a pile of the best takeout. AND you can dip your calamari in the honey orange sauce.

Everything here is made from scratch and you can tell… it’s amazing! Beautiful place inside and out, and the owner is wonderful too. Can’t wait to return!

Chef Tammy and the team do an amazing job. I really love the egg rolls and the mu shi beef, but everything is great!

Everything I’ve had from Rainbow is perfect 10/10 no notes. Slight issue with an order due to new system and Chef Tammy personally delivered a fresh batch to my door within 20 minutes. Consistently delicious and great service.

Some of the best food I've had in a long time. I've heard* that the recipes are concocted from the owner, which adds a great personal touch (*verified from a friend who has met her). The cream cheese wontons were perfectly tiny and amazing. The honey walnut shrimp was stellar--I went back for more (well, more of that AND the peanut noodles!!). I guess they're doing takeout only in these pandemic times, but certainly haven't skimped on product or service.
