West Building - M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center

This is an outstanding place for pediatric care. I delivered here and my babies were in the NICU. The staff were passionate and our babies received excellent, top notch care.

Now for the bad news. The adult patient care is totally different. It's really night and day. During our long stay in the NICU I had two ER visits on campus. The adult ER is absolutely horrible. The wait times was outrageous. I know ER's are known for being slow, but to spend 8 hours waiting around is beyond ridiculous. I would be understanding if the care was good, but sadly that was lacking too. In addition, the staff were downright nasty and unprofessional. I could overhear them disparaging the other patients, especially those with mental illness. Nobody deserves to be treated like that by medical professionals.

So in short, this is best place for pediatric care and the worst place for adult care.
