These guys run one of the best shops in the Twin Cities. I had a very involved suspension issue that another shop estimated would take 2-3 weeks to get resolved, these guys took care of it in 2 days at a very reasonable price.

Prior to moving to the Twin Cities, I had a trusted small town mechanic that took care of my car and this shop is on par with that level of trust and service. I have been to 4 different shops in the Twin Cities and these guys are by far the best service that I have received.

The manager Scott is very honest, knowledgeable, and takes the no BS approach to car repair and service. I highly recommend this shop for anyone in the area.

This is an incredible shop run by a tremendously kind team. I had a couple of big repairs that needed done and these guys went above and beyond for me in such a big way. Their work was fast yet quality. Customer service was beyond what I expected and if I ever need a big repair done in the future, I’m calling this shop. I can only rate 5 stars per google, but I attest 10/10!

This shop is right on the corner for me but even if it wasn’t, the guys at Smith Nielsen are always very up front with me and get my car fixed up without judgement. They are very communicative with how your car is doing and how long it will take. Very fast too!

I've been using this shop for over 10 years. Maintained all my household cars(6) here. And will continue doing it as long as they stay open. Honest superior service. They will not upsell you anything, they just explain you what to expect if some of the area in your car need attention. Since Scott took ownership of this shop his focus was on customer service. Waiting room is nice and clean, free beverage, TV for entertainment, WIFI if you want to do your work while waiting. His team is professional and respectful to everyone who walk in. I have a message for the person who left 1 star review: Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. I'm sure shop diagnosed issue on your car for free, but if they work on it they should and must get paid. Merry Christmas to everyone(1 star person also) and keep up a stellar performance.

Scott diagnosed a low-speed power steering issue on my 2011 Silverado as a faulty power steering pump. He ordered a replacement and had it installed within a few hours. Works like a champ now. Pricing was fair, especially since I avoided a credit card surcharge by paying with a check. I’ve been using Smith Nielsen for more than fifteen years now and they’ve always done good work and are priced very competitively. 👍.

This is the only place that I will bring my vehicle. Honest an fair which is why I trust them. I had my engine blow out on me an they worked with me every step of the way with my warranty. Great service an reliable an wont overcharge you and will be honest on what needs to be fixed now. Highly reccomend them!

The location on Blake Road is awesome. I've been taking my car here for the last six years and they have yet to let me down on anything I've thrown at them, from broken car door handles to new alternators, they have been fantastic. Scotty is without a doubt the kindest, most trustworthy mechanic/manager I've ever worked with in the Twin Cities area. These guys are a diamond in the rough.

Super helpful staff. Broke down right in front of the place and couldn't get the fuel pump to kick in long enough to drive it anywhere. They helped me get it inside. Quoted me properly and had it diagnosed right away. Positive experience at clean shop

Quick turnaround, quality work, and VERY honest people.

Took my vehicle there for the first time yesterday - ended up needing much more work than I was hoping for, but he kindly walked me through how important it was to have the work done (safety issues).

When I stopped in to pick it up later that day, I was expecting a $900 bill. They were able to save me $250 by taking a bit of extra time and cleaning up / resurfacing my rear brake drums that were already on there and in good condition. Could have easily replaced and stuck with the quote, I would have had no idea.

A+, won't hesitate to bring my vehicle back and encourage others to do the same.

I have had multiple family vehicles fixed for various things ranging from strabge to serious and they have always been honest about the issues and their communication regarding time and estimates are excellent. Highly recommend them for any work or 2nd opinion.

Knowledgeable, honest, fair and reasonable. This is the only place I bring both my vehicles for repairs. I haven't tried any of the other Smith Nielsen garages but I highly recommend this one!
