Ox Cart Ale House & Rooftop

Came here for rooftop dining recently & enjoyed the city views along with our food. It was early evening so we could see the State Capitol & CHS Field from our bar height table. There is also a late-night bar on the roof, which we came back to hang out at later the next evening. The rooftop has a relaxed environment that we appreciated. We enjoyed really good food & the server was especially helpful too. The only thing I didn't like the was the muddled orange peel & cherry in my first Old Fashioned, however they adjusted on a later second one after I asked about it. Will definitely be back with another group to enjoy the rooftop again soon!

Went here August 1st for my first time and y’all this place did not disappoint!
Patio is so fun, amazing vibe. They had a dj. It was so fun. The food was pretty good. Got smash burger tacos, ahi tuna crisps, wings, shrimp cocktail. Enjoyed all of it!
Service was little slow but it was super packed, so I’m sure that’s why. Which happens and I get it.
Can’t wait to go back again on a gorgeous day!

Ox Cart Ale House Today, not only did I have the pleasure of re-bonding with my team in person after so long, I also was able to have the experience of a lifetime. CHEF MICHAEL Wilson not only open specifically for us, he legit created the most wonderful enlightened conversation and mixed it with top of the line food with exquisite ingredients.

Y'all if you EVER and I do mean EVER have the opportunity to have this man cook and share a conversation with you.....jump on it. Listening to him speak and share his experiences not just here but, IN THE COMMUNITY was like a breath of fresh air.

For real...check him out and support. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have been to OxCart several times. It's such a great spot I travel all the way from St. Louis Park. I made the visit to check out the 7 story views of Saint Paul, which are spectacular. The highlight is the view into the CHS Field into where the Saints play. You can also see down 94, Mears Park and more. Views aside the food is great. Burgers, green curry wings, cheese curds and the sausages. The beer selection is strong, a number of craft cocktails. The service is also a stand out. The staff is friendly and even playful showing they enjoy the environment as much as I did. They also have a proper shuffleboard court. I am leaving this review after just having my long awaited event there which was executed flawlessly. I highly recommend for a night out, dinner, happy hour or events. Now go check it out!

Gus at the rooftop bar is a rockstar. Awesome pub fries (poutine style) and gorgeous views. Stopped by before a saints game and had a great time! Highly recommend!

Been here several times and I've always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Rooftop is unmatched in St. Paul, and worth the visit for the view alone. I will say that the music is slightly loud, but it doesn't detract from the experience. Always had great service and the food, drinks, water, extra silverware, napkins, and everything else came quick. Nice list of beers on tap, decent selection of food on the menu. Visited with friends, visited with family, and everybody loves it. A must visit during the summer. I hope they stay around for a long time as it's becoming a "Go To" spot when in the city. Love the huge pictures of old historic St. Paul!

Absolutely great place to visit. Stunning views! I mean, you're on a rooftop! Great drinks. Different food, but delicious. Service was great as well! Gotta check it out.

I have yet to try the food here... I've been here a couple of times for drinks with friends! Very nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. The view and weather (when permitted) is amazing! The bar does tend to get a bit busy so plan ahead.

The Meat Attack was outstanding, especially paired with the TinWhiskers Pumpkin Ale. First time, but will be back for the Saints at CHS Field.

Love this place but it’s going down hill. Toilet plugged. No tp. Took 30 minutes to get our second round. Obviously understaffed. I hope ownership takes ownership.

I didn't have any food. But it was a grwat place to connect with some friends. Bartenders were great!

Cool place with a selection of arcade games. Interesting drink menu too. Had some drink that came with a Capri Sun. Make sure to check out the rooftop.

This place is great. All the staff including the bussers were great. We got there on a Friday at about 6 pm going to the saints game. We ordered drinks which were very nicely poured. Got a table and got a waitress who was very good. Being a celiac person that has to eat gluten free I have to be careful. She helped me with my order and got me nachos that were probably the best nachos I have had around here. The friend I was with had the street tacos which he said we're awesome and he complains about his food almost every time. as a whole I would definitely come back and send people there

Came during happy hour while the Saints were also in town. We sat on the rooftop, which was absolutely packed. We had a large group, but managed to find enough chairs and a table to sit around. Only a couple of people got food, but those that did said it was pretty good. Our server was very attentive and I felt like my drink was never empty. Seemed like a really fun place to grab a drink after work with friends.

Atmosphere on the rooftop is beautiful! Love the scenery and right in heart of downtown.

Love this place for the feel of it and the atmosphere. It just has a cool vibe. My go-to when I want something that feels a little more special than standard issue. Food not the best but normally it’s still good.
