Sakana Sushi & Japanese Cuisine

Had an amazing time here with my friends. Everything I ordered was good! The portions are small, which gives room to try different plates. I have no complaints but my friends (the ones more into sushi 🍣🍱) didn’t enjoy it as much! I love that this place is BYOB. At the end, we ended up paying $40 per person including tip which is great considering the amount of food we consumed.

This all you can eat sushi buffet is the spot to go to! Great quality food with a great environment. Lots of social distancing and outdoor space. The food is absolutely amazing! Monday to Saturday the price is 18.99 per adult! And whatever you don’t finish its 50cents for each unfinished plate. Definitely come here with an empty stomach. I came here around 2pm and it was not that crowded. Lots of on site parking.

I just found my new AYCE sushi place!!

I absolutely loved the ambiance of the place. The hostess and servers were very nice and patient.

I love the AYCE menu. They're was a large variety of things to choose from. This was my first time trying steam buns and they were delicious. The sashimi and sushi rolls were super fresh. I like that they don't over compensate with rice just to fill you up. I do wish sashimi wasn't limited but I understand why it's done that way.

I will be visiting this place regularly, The best I've had in NJ thus far!

Sakana is easily a 10/10. Sushi is perfect, kitchen appetizers are cooked to perfection! Service is really great and fast as well! Love going here

The best all-you-can eat sushi in new Jersey.

Not only is the sushi excellent quality but they offer amazing kitchen dishes as well (tuna tartar, pepper tuna).

I enjoy stopping by this restaurant whenever I'm in East Hanover. They have an amazing AYCE Sushi deal. I am a big fan of the Bagel Roll, it is very creative & tasty!

The food is fresh, the sushi is excellent, and the price (All you can eat lunch option for 16.99) is unbeatable. The staff are excellent. Will sure go back for more.

Went there for the first time today. The place is beautiful and contemporary- loved the decor. The music playing was *awesome*- I give them 5 stars for the music alone! Service was good- they didn't hover around you- but were there if you needed them!

The food/fish was very very fresh. You could taste how fresh the crab and avocado were in every bite! We had: California rolls, snow roll, sexy girl roll, crazy roll, spicy tuna, and crab sashimi. Also, my husband requested some rolls with brown rice rather than white rice, they accommodated that and you couldn't even taste the difference (some other places you can taste the difference). I also had shu mai, oshinko, miso soups, shrimp tempura sweet potato tempura and red bean ice cream. Miso soup was so flavorful- best i've had in a while- I even ordered an extra one! I wish the shu mai was steamed rather than fried but other than that the food was great. I will say anything that was fried was fresh and you can tell the oil used was not old. The tempura was fried very light and airy-- not over done, hard or alot of batter. The menu for all you can eat has a really good variety, so if you have friends that aren't sushi lovers they can enjoy the all you can eat option too, check out the menus posted!

I have to say this is the best sushi spot I have tried in a longggg time!! Just go, you will not be disappointed. The service is wonderful also, fast. Overall super good experience, we will keep coming back.

Updated, ambient atmosphere, and the sushi quality was excellent. Service is also getting better — definitely not as slow as when Sakana first opened.

Good place to have sushi and sashimi. all you can eat is very worthy. Now they limit 10 pieces sashimi per person for all you can eat.

Most sushi places in the area have the same basic vibe, Sakana feels more authentic in ambiance. Plenty of friendly staff to keep things moving. Plenty of sushi, sashimi and Japanese entrees to select from. This will be my go to for now on!

Been coming here regularly (once or twice a month) with my family for the past few years. Previously, the service and portions were not great, but over the last two-three months, we noticed a change in staff and the service was noticeably better. The cuts of sashimi also was much bigger than before! Pricing remained the same so it's rare to find a place where service and portions increase without an increase in price. We certainly hope this continues! Five stars!

The food was great and the service was to. Overall this is a great place and if you are wanting Japanese food come to this place.

Great food and excellent service. The fish here is very fresh, and the staff is super friendly. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful. The menu has a wide variety of Japanese cuisine, so there is something for everybody. I am definitely coming back! I highly recommend!

Food is always fresh and always an AWESOME experience!! Bing and his staff are always a pleasure and service is prompt and decor are impressive. Yellowtail jalepeno is my favorite!
