Tacos were great! Al Pastor was my favorite! Great price point! Will order again!

This location has changed a lot this summer, from names to ownership to decor, but one thing stays certain: the food is fantastic. Benji’s has done a lovely job redecorating the space; the colors and decor are lively and bright, and the space is clean, welcoming more to dine in instead of take out. The food is delicious, and the menu has a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes.

When the waiter asks if you want to start with chips and guac - say yes. The chips are warm, perfectly salted and crispy, and the guacamole is delightful. They’ll bring out an avocado mixture (not spicy at all) and a decently hot salsa, so make sure to specify if you want spicier salsa; they do have it, but they don’t bring it out at first. Tacos were delicious and filling; I got al pastor and carnitas, both wonderful. My guest got the chorizo torta, which he loved. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’ll be looking forward to getting the flan and churros next time.

If you’ve been to this location in the past for Mexican food, make sure to come to Benji’s - they did a phenomenal job and you will not be disappointed. Staff is as friendly as ever, too. And if you haven’t been before, definitely give it a go! This is not a place to miss.

We happen to find this place when the place we were going to was closed down the road.

My wife and I were very impressed with the food. The shrimp ceviche was the best we had. They are not cheap with the shrimp and nowhere in Dover where we had it can make it like here.

We go out of our way to make a trip here a few times a month. The only funny thing to comment on and its nothing bad, is the choice of tv viewing. They continuously loop Benji commercials all day. They should have some kind of TV viewing but obviously not a deal breaker at all. Just a funny comment.

We have been to both locations and definitely prefer the Caldwell location.

Benji’s catering was beyond professional! My company had a corporate event and Benji’s catered to my needs even though I gave them little notice. As a customer, this shows how above and beyond the restaurant will go for you… they went more than the extra mile. They wanted to work with me and help me out! Their customer service is top notch and more restaurants need Benji’s culture. They did not hesitate to do anything and offered way more than we asked.

They set up a taco/quesadilla bar and the set up was very appealing.. food was so quick and my team did not have to wait in a line. The food was very fresh and delicious.. the best Mexican food in Essex county! Customer service is 10/10

Went here for lunch for the first time and was not disappointed. Excellent food and the folks are really nice. Will definitely be back.

Very authentic Mexican food.

I ordered from Benji’s last week for the first time and the customer service was outstanding! The girls were so sweet on the phone and when I went to pick up my food! The restaurant is so clean! The food was delicious!! The guacamole was amazing!!!

Have been here couple times and just realized I never reviewed. Just want to express how happy I am to have found Benji's. I would say hands down they're the best Mexican place, at least in the Morris area.

So far I've tried the chicken and beef fajitas, which I highly recommend. Also I had their short rib and they made that well I enjoyed it alot. They also sell their salsas, I had to buy cuz it's that good!

I try to come as often possible, and I can't wait to stop by again.

Excellent. I had steak fajitas which came with a dinner sized field greens salad with awesome cilantro dressing, and the meal was too big to finish, for 16 bucks! My wife had the shrimp with garlic dish, prepared perfectly, and also enough to take some home. Chips and salsa are plentiful and fresh. Ultra friendly staff, clean, comfortable and authentically decorated, it was a pleasure to dine in here (enough space to feel safe) and it looked like the take out business was also hoping. Nothing fancy here but it will not disappoint. Happy to pay the bill! When was was the last time you said that?!

Benji's is a staple take out spot for our family and many others in the area. The food is always fresh and they are very accomodating to the requests I have to make to orders.

We've had it all here: tacos, enchiladas, tortas, alambres, burritos, desserts. Everything is on point.

Everything was fresh. Brenda, our server, was outstanding! The food was great and Brenda brought the experience to even a greater level. Employees like Brenda make lasting customers.

I've been ordering for 3 years, never an error, never disappointed, always happy. I just had their Birrira tacos for first time, just crushed them. So good. So legit.

I usually get their enchiladas, which are solid. Their green sauce on side is very good. Yeah, just so solid overall.

If you order their chilaquiles, ask for sauce on the side.

We had a bbq this past weekend, I spoke to the owner regarding a taco truck. He’s extremely nice, friendly and awesome cook. The family came with truck and everyone at my party loved the food. The food was fresh, tasty and pretty much perfect.

Very authentic Mexican food I love this place I always get there beef tongue tacos and put on there super spicy salsa roja adds really good flavor highly recommend

Everything they make is great. Modelo battered fish tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had. Deliver to us in Essex Fells in under 30 minutes(do not use Doordash or Ubereats unless you have to).

Great food for pick-up or dine in. We first tried this spot in June 2019 and have been coming back ever since. They have great portions and flavorful food. It’s a great option to pick up and take home. Their churros and the dip it comes with are to die for!

All the tacos are great as well as the torta sandwiches they make. This place makes very flavorful traditional Mexican food. The entrees have wonderful flavors and the salsas are spot on 👍🏻 🌮 🥑 🇲🇽

Tried them for the first time the other day and will definitely be back. The tacos were delicious, filling, and very reasonably priced. Make sure to ask for double tortillas.

Good clean fast Spanish food. Order regularly from there. Quicker to go direct to them than through Uber eats

$2 tacos- quite tasty- not the taqueria we’re used to but it’s flavorful and we have already gone back once and will make this a frequent place to visit. Or as we know it, the part of Caldwell that has good Mexican food.
