King David's Restaurant Fairmount

WOW. Food was authentic, incredibly good, and very fairly priced. Service was kind and friendly. They even offered a generous military discount which is never expected but always appreciated.

Our Server made sure we had what we needed but didn’t pester us, and the manager even stopped by to see how our food was. Very mom & pop family owned feel. Everyone seemed happy to be working there.

My wife has Celiac and a dairy allergy. While they don’t currently have a separate GF menu (it’s in the works), they were able to give recommendations and tailor her order.

They DO have a dedicated fryer so GF customers can enjoy fries and falafel as well.

The Chwarma and Sweet Potato fries were killer. Hummus and falafel were also out of this world. The baklava was homemade and top notch. A+ I will be a repeat customer.

Heard about this new location and had to try it. We weren't disappointed. I ordered the special, lamb gyro with fries and Chris ordered the gyro bowl with chicken. Wish there was more of the toppings in the bowl instead of it being mostly rice. Otherwise, everything was fresh, hot and tasty. They were very busy, wish them the best. Hopefully, they maintain the service and quality we experienced today. Sorry, forgot to take pics!

I remember going to King David's on M Street! I'm so glad they have this location too now. The food was delicious. My two boys have not had Mediterranean much and really enjoyed their gyros. I loved my gyro bowl.
Portions are generous and the cashier was so helpful and friendly. We'll come again..

Charlie, the manager of the Marshall Street restaurant founded by his father, recently closed this campus favorite after a run of about 50 years. He reopened in a small space on West Genesee Street opposite Fairmount Fair. The falafels, chawarma, and chicken pesto pizza are terrific and the baba ganoush is outstanding. In the past, I preferred the Fayetteville King David's restaurant, run by the other brother, Nadir, because of the ease of parking, but now they are equal in convenience, quality, and service.

Friendly staff and delicious food! Really enjoy the gyro meat mix (combination of lamb and beef). The food was not too salty which was nice because many Mediterranean restaurants over salt the meat.

King David's Fairmount is fantastic! I've had food from King David's in Fayetteville, which is excellent as well, and the food here is definitely on the same level. The service was just as good as the food. The person taking our order was pleasant and accommodating.
If you are in the Fairmount area and in the mood for great food, King David's should without a doubt be a choice.

Had a wonderful time there today with my grandfather. Staff were patient with us and were attentive. Made us feel welcome! The smell alone will guide you into King David's, I got the Mediterranean Gyro and it was so good, I got a second one to bring home. Hope everyone else enjoys themselves as much as we did.

Love this restaurant! Consistently great food and quick service. Hummus is delicious—my wife says she could eat it everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Affordable prices.

King David Fairmount is definitely the BEST restaurant in not only Upstate NY, but all of NYS! It is a restaurant where the food is so delicious that I have to actually stop myself from crying because I'm so overwhelmed by amazingness! It is a go to restaurant for us.

The first thing I have to mention is the freshness of the food! The veggies are crisp, the flavors are bright and vibrant, and everything is in house made. They also use premium ingredients. I feel like that makes a huge difference and definitely lends to the amazing quality of the dishes. When I want real, fresh food, I can count on King David.

We are vegetarian and consider ourselves foodies. I love that KD has so many tasty vegetarian options. The hummus, baba ganoush and falafel are to die for! Any of the bowls (the farro bowl is outstanding!) are a great choice as is the vegetarian platter. The baklava...OMG! I feel a tear coming to my eye just thinking about it. Craving just 1 more piece.

The restaurant is comfortable, welcoming and spotless. The prices are excellent and you get a very generous amount of food, regardless of what you order. I also totally love the staff! They are so great at helping you get exactly what you want and suggesting new dishes. Eating here is just an all around excellent experience! I really love King David. If you haven't been, you are missing out on a slice of heaven.

We were delighted to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of King David's with our friends. Everyone was filled with joy and the food was magnificent as always.

I've been coming to this place since ce I was a kid (and I'm no Spring chicken). My mother and I used to eat at the one up on Marshall near the university.

The food is always fresh and delicious and the prices are good.

The falafel is delicious and I love their Tahiti sauce.

The place seems clean enough and the service is usually good. My wife and I have had a couple clunkers but usually nice.

The food was delicious and fresh. We bumped into a man there who mentioned that this location was better than their other location. Their portions are also generous for the price so you'll definitely get your money's worth.

So glad they opened one in Fairmount. Don't have to go all the way to Fayetteville. Best middle eastern food around and still at a reasonable price. I always get a falafel platter and the portion is more than satisfying. Fast service even when you order take out and wait for your order in the restaurant. Yum!!!
UPDATE 7/14/2023 Still a good place to eat. The only thing I would say is the consistency of the taste of the food is different at times. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. I think it depends on whose cooking.

This is by far our go to place for fast service, delicious food and great atmosphere!! Let me not forget the most amazing baklava around!!

Great pit stop on a long drive. After choosing from an expansive and vegetarian friendly menu and wide selection of drinks, we found our way to a beautiful indoor courtyard, sunny and peaceful - practically private. Food came VERY quickly, and was delicious. The falafel was crisped to perfection, tahini was lemony and pungent, fries melted in your mouth, hummus was creamy and rich, and portions were generous. After deciding not to stuff ourselves before another few hours of driving, we got help from the lady with purple hair (thank you!!!!) to pack it up. 5 stars. Would go back again if it wasn’t 3 hours away.

I've had some really good gyros before, but never really had any other Greek food. This time I tried something different and it was amazing. Nice atmosphere, friendly and fast service. The menu is a tad bit overwhelming at first, but if you go often then I'm sure you'd get used to it.
