Pacific Sands Academy

Working with Shauna and team at Pacific Sands Academy was a dream for our whole family! Not only does Shauna care deeply for her students, she offers guidance and opportunity for kids to dive deep into what lights them up! And the learning and fun that comes of it was a gift to us all! i had originally planned to operate as my own home school but came across pacific sands and enrolled right away because i loved the idea of the field trip opportunities to the beach for my first grader, Olive. the director is always proactive in creating opportunities for all the students to engage with one another, and it's been an awesome experience so far. it's great being able to do home school, but be under the pacific sands umbrella. i feel more supported, less alone, and also still have freedom to create my curriculum, and if i ever need guidance, i know shauna is always there. i fully recommend pacific sands :)

We are so thankful for Pacific Sands Academy. When my daughter's high school transitioned to remote learning due to COVID it became clear that unfortunately her educational needs would not be met. With Shauna's guidance and support my daughter worked hard to graduate early while studying subjects she is passionate about and is now excited to begin college courses this fall! Shauna is the most supportive teacher both my children have had. I have recommended her to many friends. Pacific Sands is a great solution to teens who know tradition high school is not for them and are eager to focus in on interests the want to pursue beyond high school.

Working with Shauna has been a godsend during the pandemic. Her steady reassurance and guidance helped my teenaged son to navigate the trials of distance learning. I really appreciated the way she kept him focused on his interests, and found creative solutions for him to remain in school earning credits towards graduation.

Pacific Sands was a huge blessing in our lives. My son was in 9th grade and had totally lost interest in learning and eventually pursuing a career so we decided to give this program a try and he did 10th grade with Shawna. The way she personalized and facilitated the learning experience for him was amazing! He started realizing he was now in charge of his education. He could make decisions and design his path, felt respected, understood, reassured in his individuality, assisted in finding his way and empowered to the point he felt he wanted to try going back to public school to have more of the social experience. He did that for 11th grade and when the pandemic came and all learning was online he went back to Pacific Sands and graduated at a super fast pace. He’s now in college pursuing Automotive Technology and most importantly he is excited about it. I can’t thank Shawna and her program enough for offering this wonderful alternative to traditional education. Not every child fits that mold but they all have a huge potential and this program gives them the opportunity to discover it.

Pacific Sands Academy was the best solution for my son's academic needs and interests. By using Pacific Sands Academy we were able to put fun back into learning. So grateful to have Pacific Sands Academy as an education option.

From day one our HST Shauna Reisewitz has always addressed and found ways to best accommadate the educational needs of my children(her students). Rather it was Curriculum,College prep or asking how hard should I be pushing my 3 year old to better read and write. Shauna always took the time and interest in providing support in whatever educational challenges my family faced furing our hom4 school journey.We have nothing but gratitide and respect for our HST. Pacific Sands was exactly what our son needed. Traditional school just didn't work for him, and Pacific Sands stepped in to meet him right where he was and guide him to success.
