My wife & I eat out regularly and we r always disappointed with the waiter takes the order but a runner serves the food. Most of the time you don’t see the waiter until the time for the bill. But our waiter greeted us & gave name, ( Chase) which is unusual, and took care of our table from water to check. Beyond the wonderful service, the food was outstanding. Looking forward to returning to the Clarke Cooke House again this summer.

This is my most favorite eatery in Newport! I’m a seafood and veggie lover and couldn’t be happier with their menu, quality ingredients and creative culinary executions.

Let me also share the cocktails here are well prepared and thoughtful. I love the selection of top liquors.

The ambiance is perfect for romance or a intimate family dinner - it can get a little lively at certain hours of the day but it’s so charming and the view often distracts you from any annoyingly loud parties.

Do all you can to enjoy this restaurant! It’s Newport at Its finest!

We went back and have to say it just is always getting better and better! Today we enjoyed the chefs choice in Oysters and were happy to pay more than the festival rates for the sophisticated and serene atmosphere. Every staff member we encountered was just lovely!

This was a really nice spot for lunch. It’s a lovely restaurant with heritage and authenticity. Our waiter was really, really good! The burger was massive, full and very tasty. Chips were crunchy and great. The clam chowder wasn’t very good though. Warm, not hot. The calamari was delicious. Very impressive. Would definitely come again.

Johnathan was an awesome bartender and host. The lamb shank was fantastic. We had so much fun in this historic setting.

We walked in 15 minutes after opening and it was already quite busy! Atmosphere is great and service was good and effecient. Food was excellent, wonderful fresh oysters with delicious condiments. Calamari was very good too - would have preferred tartar sauce (not available) over the tomato based one they served it with but it was fine. Fried capers were a wonderful addition! I'd recommend this place and definitely would go back. Also dog friendly

While the kitchen's earlier closing time during the off-season meant we could only indulge in dessert, it was a delightful pairing with our drinks at the bar. The ambiance remained lively, despite it being the quieter time of the year. From previous visits, I recall the place brimming with energy, complemented by splendid views of the Newport Marina. The cuisine here is undeniably top-notch, justifying the premium pricing. Whether you're looking for a sumptuous meal or just a sophisticated spot to relax with a drink, Clarke Cooke House delivers.

This has to be the cutest place to dine in Newport. The decor makes you feel like a cool new englander. We walked in during a busy time and was seated in 15 minutes. The food was delicious and our server was fantastic. The oysters were so fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back.

I’ve been here multiple times and the food here is very good! Perfect date spot but always make sure to reserve a table first because the restaurant is always very busy.

Absolutely fantastic experience, no wait to be seated, everything was CLEAN, our server Kim was excellent and attentive, the food was timely and tasty. I have NO complaints. I can’t wait to come back!! Not to mention, it was my boyfriend’s birthday and I wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else!

Top notch service in a great location with delicious food. Always fresh and quickly prepared. A must-visit classic if you are in Newport! The lobster roll is tasty along with the oysters and littleneck clams. Also has a great view if you can be seated there. Don’t miss it!

Got us a seat for Christmas Dinner with no reservation! First-class seafood meals, great services, and they even gave us a Christmas gift!

Had an amazing time with James at the oyster bar. He explained each oyster we tried, the different sauces and the shucking process. Best oysters.

Outstanding! The food is amazing, the service is top notch, the atmosphere is warm and fun. I recommend getting reservations as it was quite busy. I have been to many places in the world and this one is in my top three. To the waitress, wine captain, and managers please keep up the excellent work.

if I could give this place a 6/5 stars, I would! First off, incredible atmosphere and vibe and incredible service! We were served by Nick on a Saturday afternoon on the first floor and everything was coming straight away and Nick was always eager to help, and was very friendly and professional in everything. We got two cocktails, and for starters the raw oysters and caramelized scallops, and as for entrees, we got from the day’s specials the monkfish and the sole, and everything was a-ma-zing! I could not recommend this place enough. If you are in Newport for a day, definitely go and have lunch or dinner there!!!

Always a stellar experience at the Cooke House. Consistently good, always a win - never a miss - from the service to the ambiance to the food itself. I’ve had dinner here several times this year. I visited today for an early lunch and enjoyed a shrimp cocktail and the fantastic New England lobster salad. It was a perfect salad with a just right blend of flavors and textures and a good serving of lobster. The Snowball in Hell is a must for dessert! I’m not sure what the secret is at this restaurant but they get everything right every time. Thank you Cooke House crew. PS the water view from the Candy Store and Sky Bar is fabulous.

Top notch service and food. Definitely recommend. Teriyaki tuna salad was delicious as well as any main course fish dish. And of course, you can’t beat the view if you request to sit by the water. We were there during the sunset and it was one of the most memorable experiences in Newport.
