Beautiful park in a beautiful setting. Quiet and very well manicured. Tables, playground equipment , walkways all very well maintained. Restrooms were some of the best we have ever encountered at a public park, clean and well supplied. The boardwalk takes you to the edge of the water up close and personal with the columns of minerals left behind after the water level dropped when water was diverted to supply Las Angles some years ago. Nice bench seating on the walkway at the end.
This is a must see if you're going to be in the Mono Lake area.

Amazing park to stop for a rest when driving 395.
Great playground for the kids and it's surrounded by grassy lawns with picnic tables.
Dogs are allowed in the grassy park area, but not on the boardwalk down to the lake.
The boardwalk has great info signs about the past level of the lake, and have always seen birds.
Clean flushing toilets too!

It's one of the Mono county's secret spots. Not so crowded and perfect for picnic or transit stops. It has plenty of picnic benches, kids play area and clean restrooms. It has a boardwalk which leads to tufas view point . Good spot for birdwatching.

We went here during the winter. It was amazing to see the tufa. I was mesmerized by the peace and calm of mono lake. There was information about local birds on the boardwalk. The serene quiet was the best. The lack of other people was even better.

Mono Lake was very neat to visit. However, the website said you can swim in the Dead Lake. We went to three different sites around the lake and would not wade through the very fragrant mud. However, the Lake offered buetiful fauna and unlimited photographic opertunities.

TIPS to Consider:

Have the family read about Mono Lake to make connections with it's natural awesomeness and importance to the universe.

Use Google lens to learn about leaves, plants and trees only common to thus area.

The park has extraordinary photo-ops and you may see dear.

Bathrooms were clean (in November).

Visited for 2 hours, the only family on-site.

There is a small kids playground to let out their energy.

This place has the views! Easy 5 minute walk from parking lot down boardwalk to vantage point by lake. A lot of American southwest history and science here. The rock structures coming out of water are "Tufa" salt and mineral columns.

Wow, what a gem of a park! Beautifully maintained all around. Great playground is open and spacious, lots of shaded grassy areas, a footbridge over the seasonal creek, decent facilities, and an easy albeit sunny boardwalk down over the marsh/wetland area. It’s a half mile off 395. Highly recommended pit stop or picnic location.

Fabulous educational stop at mono Mono Lake, learning about the water usage and the ecology of increased salinity. Entry was 3 bucks each but waived with a national parks pass.

Have been here at least three times and it has been at three different times of the year and I have to say it seems to be the most beautiful at late July. Although I am a little concerned about the ever lowering water level.

How could you not rate this natural beauty with five stars. Nothing compares to nature! It is well preserved. Map it out before you go. I saw the view from above and stopped by on a whim. There are several access points, which I regret not getting closer to. The side I stopped to take a break had a boardwalk, bathrooms, a playground, and lots of educational content along the walk.

Awesome little park. Really clean bathrooms - cleaner than home most of the time! Stopped by here to eat lunch on our way back from a weekend in the eastern Sierras. Nice picnic tables under the trees. Great playground for the kids. Took a walk down the boardwalk to Mono Lake where a park volunteer had info and telescope setup to see birds nesting on tufa in the lake.

A great escape along Highway 395. Lots of shades and grass. Clean restrooms with water and picnic amenities! Its free and donation of
min 2 usd is recommended. There’s a short boardwalk trail leading to tufas. Bring your binoculars for wildlife viewing. Saw lots of wildflowers in the boardwalk and tufas up close. Less people visit here so its a must to pass by as its not crowded

Beautiful park, with a playground for kids. Let them get some energy out, then take them down the boardwalk to see the tufas. Please remind them not to touch the ones that are near the boardwalk!
