El Mono Motel & Latte Da Coffee Cafe

Lovely hotel. The rooms are really, really small (as in: 4 suitcases in the room and you'll have difficulties moving around the room). But everything was perfectly clean and even if the rooms are small, they feel cozy and the room we stayed in was recently renovated. Not all rooms have their own bathroom, but we didn't have a problem with the communal bathrooms and restrooms provided.

What a special little spot located by Mono Lake right off the highway. They have vegan friendly sandwiches on delicious homemade bread for lunch and I had a refreshing fruit smoothie. They also have vegan gluten free brownies! If they were close I’d stop in all the time! Thanks for the excellent customer service!

stayed here for one night on our trip to Death Valley. this Motel is the most cosy we‘ve stayed in our trip! love their little garden and their espresso! would definitely come back! also a great starting point for a little hike down to the mono lake

Absolutely fantastic. My husband and I love this place. Beautiful garden, lovely room, and best of all, lowest price in the area XD Adjacent to a coffee shop and down the street from a great diner, what's not to like?

I went to the coffee shop and had the Rojo Raven. Sooooo gooood. The sandwich consists of egg, spicy sausage, jack cheese, with tomato & and arugula, and served on house-made focaccia bread. The service is absolutely outstanding. Very nice and friendly people. I will be going back ASAP.

Every time we are in Lee Vining we stop for the wonderfully tasty sandwiches and excellent cappuccinos. They have created this beautiful, peaceful atmosphere in the backyard garden that gets visited by a great variety of song birds and butterflies. The barista really knows his trade, top notch cappuccino! We very much appreciated it being served in real mugs (instead of wasteful paper cups with plastic lids like everywhere else…)

I dropped by the cafe to get a cup of latte. Talked the owner, gentle old lady and we had good conversations:) she is super nice because she offered me to make another one if it’s not hot enough. Such a nice hospitality she has. Like their cute and warm feelings and atmosphere!

Latte Da Coffee serves up great espresso drinks! The menu is brief, but the offerings are quite good and GLUTEN-FREE bread and treats on offer. Definitely worth a stop on the way up to Mono Lake or back to your campsite.

Loved this little spot. Super comfortable beds, wow! I wanted to take home the bedding actually 🤣 and they have a awesome little coffee shop and home made baked goods and sandwiches. Best place in Lee vining by a loooong shot! (Traveller from Wales)

This review is for the coffee shop! Absolutely delicious breakfast sandwiches. Homemade, fresh ingredients every time we come in. The coffee is great too! Don’t forget to grab a pastry before you head out. You will not regret it. The lovely ladies behind the counter are always cheery and wonderful to chat with. WiFi and clean restrooms also available. This is a perfect place to unwind, or to bring your computer in to get some work done. Highly recommend!

I would do six stars if I could!! Best coffee and breakfast sandwiches on the east side. Beds in the room were super comfy. Bathroom in our room was great and we had plenty of hot water to shower to clean up after a long day in the mountains.

It's the cutest motel I've ever been! To be honest, we didn't stay there, but we spent 2 of our mornings there having brunch. My parents loved it because this motel has a small garden and they prepare food for the birds. So when we had brunches there, my parents can take pictures of flying birds. A nice brunch place for bird lovers :)

What a great find. The women behind the counter were very sweet and friendly. We had two sandwiches, a Mexican mocha and some freshly baked seasonal breads. EVERYTHING was fresh and perfectly executed. The flavors were phenomenal. I highly recommend this stop before heading toward or away from your adventures.

We have never stayed here but have had coffee and treats here several times. The staff is ultra friendly and we just love stopping here. They have indoor seating and two very nice outdoor seating areas. Great place with classic bent willow furniture, very comfortable.

One of many hidden gems along the 395. This review is only for the coffee shop. They've got great coffee, baked good, and the people that work here are so nice! Out back there's a beautifully landcaped, tiny garden, and restrooms to use.

I've stopped here many times when driving between Reno and LA.

Great service - they greet you as soon as you walk in the door, and are friendly and helpful.

I had a slice of cherry coconut coffee cake, and it was large and so good, as well as reasonably priced. They have a large selection of coffee drinks and desserts, along with great iced coffee.

They have a lovely sitting area filled with garden flowers.

They accept credit/debit cards.

Stayed here for one of the nights of our annual motorcycle trip, and the whole group enjoyed the stay. Extremely hospitable and good, happy faces around the whole property. Coffee the next morning was fantastic as well.

Cute strip motel that was clean and inexpensive. Great garden out back and water conservation was cool to see. Live your principles. Plus really good coffee and pastries up front at Latte Da. 10/10 would do again.

Wonderful motel on the Mono side of Yosemite. Small but perfectly formed. Gorgeous garden and great vibe. Get a sandwich and a smoothie, top notch!

Family owned for 31 years. Very low key , laid back vibes. The coffee is MOLTO DELICIOSO , the bakery items exquisite and an interesting variety of breakfast sandwiches 😋😋. Would highly recommend a short or extended stay...you won't regret the choice👌👍. In the last fifteen years I have spent time in all the hotels except El Mono and now I have my " go to" motel for all future forays to Lee Vining
