In a world full of information at your fingertips there is something heartwarming about a Chamber of Commerce with open doors and friendly faces--not to mention great and accessible information. The Lee Vining Chamber of Commerce is housed in the Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore right on Hwy 395. It's a lovely spot complete with a great regional book selection, locally made goods and gifts, and a great spot to stop and have lunch outside (there's even a water fountain!) The best part is the information provided---from up-to-the-minute road condition information and helpful mountain route navigation advice to a complete listing of accommodations to menus for local restaurants to recreation recommendations for any time of year these guys have it all and are happy to help you have the best possible experience in this remote part of California.

About Mono Lake
Lake in California

Mono Lake is a saline soda lake in Mono County, California, formed at least 760,000 years ago as a terminal lake in an endorheic basin. The lack of an outlet causes high levels of salts to accumulate in the lake which make its water alkaline. source
