Amelia Wildlife Management Area

Excellent Lake for beginners whether canoeing or kayaking. Very nice surroundings. Really nice new Pier.

Need a fishing license to use the area but it's worth it. Rifle range has cover so you can shoot in the rain. There are 6 firing positions with benchrests for long guns. No handguns allowed. The firing positions have a window to shoot through so you won't be able to fire while standing or any position besides seated or hunched over the bench. There's also a skeet area next door.

Great area, mostly clean. Glad to see other anglers and hunters taking care of the land. Great for bank fishing.

Dirt track wma. No picnic tables, adequate att cell service. Just what I was looking for.

I wasn't expecting there to be target holders there. Nice surprise. I went at 3 pm. 1 person was there and he said it was a line waiting to shoot just a few hours before. Late evening definitely better.

Beautiful and quiet place to get back to nature. Has rifle range and shot gun area.

Camped out with the family. Amenities were nice- a cool breeze, silence of nature, and scenic view. Fished the lake but didn't catch anything. Was hoping to use the range, but the rain held us back.

An awesome place to bring family to get out of the house. This place has a boat ramp on a nice sized lake, plenty of woods for hunting depending on what season you’re in, an outdoor shooting and “sighting in” range for rifles. And also has plenty of trails.. Even walked around and found a couple other less fished ponds where I found some decent bass. Overall well Worth the trip.

Great place to go to escape the city... Peaceful and lovely.

Wow!!!!! What a peaceful, beautiful, soul recharging place this is! I was fortunate enough to attend a nature, spiritual cleansing (sorta hippy-dippy) weekend retreat with 4 other ladies on a beautiful piece of land. From what I understand, the area rented for this retreat is typically used for a religious gathering place; Main house, bunk house, quite a few camp sites, a huge campfire circle and a lovely pagoda with a huge outdoor kitchen and chairs/tables for maybe 80-100 people. This area also boasts quite a few nature/walking trails. The amenities are absolutely lovely! Well built, solid structures with bathrooms and showers, a full kitchen and an amazing indoor gathering room with a gorgeous, huge fireplace!

I don't have any rental information on this area, as I was just an attendee, but, I would absolutely look into renting this area if I was in need of a large meeting place! Absolutely lovely and so peaceful!

So quiet and peaceful at the boat landing, a perfect place to just lay out a blanket and forget about the world for a while. Looks like fantastic fishing too, the fish never stopped jumping while we were there, in midday even, and we could see big fish swimming just feet away from the boat ramp drop off!

Great place to get away from the concrete grind even for a few minutes. Have been coming here since grandpa took me 35 years ago and have since found some special spots that I won't reveal here. Main point you can get away from others easily on this expansive wma. Thanks DWR

I hunt squirrel and rabbit here, but every time I'm out I see big deer and plenty of crow.

There's huge dove Feilds, hardwood forests, a large lake, a tiny pond and a river, as well as a free sight in range that opens at 9am.

Everything is connected by well maintained foot paths, and there is a main road for vehicles to get around.

This place is very busy with hunters on weekends but you can go all day without seeing anyone on weekdays.

Great spot to fish (with a license) and shoot (with a license). Zeroing range open Sept through March. Shotgun range too.

Lovely place and not too far from Powhatan, where I live. Has a boat launch, rifle and shotgun range, and I believe a number of other things. I was only there to shoot.
