Brian Burt has been cutting my hair for the past year and each time he's organized and prepared. He keeps detailed notes on his client preferences, something no other barber does. Also, holds a great conversation with a super chill, easy going demeanor. Thanks for being awesome.

Best haircut I've had in Portland bar none! I had Danielle and she was an absolute pro. Gave her inspiration and let her have creative liberty based on my idea and it turned out great! Will be coming back for sure.

I had Danielle. She is new there from the east coast. I've been trying to explain how I want my hair for like 2 years since I've been in Portland. Constantly hopping from place to place due to either not being fully satisfied with the cut or not feeling the vibe with the stylist. This is the first time I've ever been compelled to write a review. Danielle is perfection. She's super good at sensing your vibe and interacting accordingly. This is the first time I've felt that the cut is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. I've never had an artist like this take what I asked her to do, re-articulate it back to me how she planned to do it with such detail, and execute it perfectly. She literally took an additional 15 minutes on top of how long you'd expect a cut to take to go over everything multiple times to make it perfect. I just wish she knew how much this means to me to have finally found someone who was able to figure it out - which is why I wanted to write this review. Thank you Danielle! - you are amazing!

Had a great experience with Brian. I was new to my particular hair style and Brian walked me through my hair cut step by step making sure my cut was exactly what I wanted. He even squared off my beard at no extra cost. He was extremely professional and a pleasure to talk to. I will definitely be booking my next appointment with him.

Called the number and got an appointment exactly when I wanted. Brian hooked me up with the most comfortable haircut I’ve had in a long time. He even gave me a discount since I had cut my own hair before heading over. Fast, professional, and most of all, friendly. Highly recommend to anyone in the Portland area with the means.

My boyfriend loves going to see Brian, and his hair always looks the best after seeing him. Great atmosphere & all around a good guy to have your hair cut by! Many friends have now gone to see him as well.

The best feeling is walking into a barber shop, knowing that the staff are knowledgeable. Well trained, and also laid back.
My wife went to another establishment before coming here. The last place demolished my wife's hair. A gentleman here saved my wife's hair the best he could, and it came out amazing.
I was always told (never did I listen), wemon go to salons. Men go to barbers. This place proves that wrong. All people are welcome here. Anyone and everyone.
They even give adult beverages to those who can legally drink.

Excellent. Best to make an appointment. I'm a crew cut, flat top kind of guy and know how difficult short hair can be. My barber did an excellent job paying attention to all the little details that make a short hair cut look good. Highly recommended.

Will worked with me, and he was extremely professional. It's clear he has passion for his craft by the follow up confirmations questions he asked me about the style I wanted. He tended to problem areas of my hair before needing to ask for additional touch up.

Again, I will absolutely be back in 4-5 weeks, and I highly recommend Rooks barbershop.

Saw Justin the owner. Easily the best haircut I have ever had and the standard to which all future haircuts have been compared. I also appreciated the conversation and hearing about Justin's life before opening up his barber shops. I can't say enough good things about this place. BEST HAIRCUT EVER!

Great haircut and conversation. My favorite place to get my haircut in Portland. Had a job interview and Will suggested we change things up a little. Can't definitively say the haircut was the deciding factor, but I did get the job.

I was visiting some friends in town and stopped in to get a haircut. The place is slightly old school barber shop, but more family-friendly and less pretentious than the Prohibition-style barbershops that have become all the rage lately. They offer you a beer or whiskey while waiting, which is pretty fun. My haircut was great and just what I asked for. I'll be back in Portland for a wedding later in the year and will be going back before then!

I recently had an appointment with Chachi to correct a bad hair cut I'd received elsewhere. He asked about the style I was looking for, understood what I wanted, and gave me a flawless undercut fade and beard trim.
I will definitely be returning to this shop.

My son has been going to see John for about 2 years now. While his hair is neither straight nor tightly curled, which can be challenging to get to cooperate, John takes the time and pays attention to detail so each and every hair is cut the way the style demands. My son leaves happy everytime he has an appointment at Rooks. The real testament to his work is when days later, after sports, sleeping, and showers he still walks out of the house with his hair styled the way he asked. All without any hair product. Just a great barber! Thanks John!

Best haircut I've ever had. Period. If you want to get your hair cut somewhere that looks like a classic barbershop, there are plenty of places in town to fit the bill. If you want to get your hair cut by a classic barber--the kind that will quickly become "your" barber--go to Rooks. They don't offer cologne or cigarettes, just great haircuts. And I'm just fine with that.

Great service. Love the ability to pay before my appointment. There are certainly cheaper barbershops a person could go to. However, Rooks is a great place to go if you want to treat yourself.
