Have shopped next to this place but never stopped in.
Decided to meet a friend for brunch and so glad I did! Prices are very fair for the serving size. The food was also very good!
Server was pleasant and the atmosphere had a mom & pop feel to you. You can tell there are locals that had been coming for years. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite!
Adding, my friend has a restricted diet and our server made sure the chef cleaned the side of the grill that would be used to prepare her food.

We went on Juneteenth, and the place was busy. However, we got seated in no time.
This is one of our go-to places if we want some Filipino breakfast and don't want to cook. 😊
The servers were very friendly and food didn't disappoint! I tried their adobo omelet and Almond Joy iced coffee, and my hubby had the Filipino breakfast (he chose tocino for the meat).

Felt like home even when this is my first time to dine at Sunrise. Wonder why I waited this long?? The place was packed, indicative of the great warm friendly service and the delicious breakfast food. I had my craving for longanisa (labeled sweet sausage on the menu) so that's what I ordered: Filipino breakfast with sweet sausage (note:tocino is equally delicious) , fried rice, toast and 2 eggs your way.
Can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff and I swear the ambience of hospitality is contagious, even the customers at the bar where I was seated were all friendly!
Veronica the owner is immersed in serving the customers - taking to go cells, making delicious lattes...everyone chipping in in a cadence with no words needed to coordinate without missing a beat. That's what you get for being in business for 29 years!

This is a family owned local spot in Chesapeake. You can regulars and locals come to this restaurant. The food was good. The 1st time I went I had bacon, fried egg and home fries. I didn’t like the home fries. So the 2nd time I went I got a waffle instead of the home fries. Everything was great. The service was great both times.

I've been to this lovely place several times lately and each time it's been consistently very clean, high quality service, great food & reasonable prices. It's just amazing to me, in this day, where I can hardly find that in any restaurant. It's cozy, and the fully- staffed employees are friendly and on the spot. I have both eaten in and gotten take out. Today we ate there and then I called later to get another order. The regular coffee is off the chain best I've had. The food is served exactly how you order it, delicious, fast and hot. Always owner/managment present and caring. I feel so grateful to have stopped by here again after several years, no reason, just moved a bit further away. It is well worth the drive any day. I only wish they were opened a bit longer, but this probably is why they are such a well-oiled machine.

It’s a friendly and unpretentious place that serves great food. Prices are very reasonable too. Service is fast and friendly too. Portions are generous as well. It does fill up fast on the weekends so try to get there early. Two thumbs way up!

This is our go to breakfast place. We have eaten here at least 20 times and the food is always great. I like to get the sunrise club with French fries. It’s a straight classic and the French fries are amazing. We also like the steak omelet that comes with cheese, pepper, onions, and mushrooms with pancakes and home fries on the side. Delicious. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

This place feels like you are eating at home. The atmosphere is very basic, which I love. The service is always very good and the food comes out quickly even when it’s busy.

This place is seat yourself and you can split checks and pay with credit card.

Very old fashioned feel to the place, certainly not sleek and modern, but tye food was good and the vibe was friendly. And the biscuit was really delicious. Probably crowded on the weekends. Even mid morning on a weekday there were folks waiting for a table at times. Over all probably will never be a favorite place if mine but it was good and I'd go back!

Stopped in with a local friend for breakfast. Food, service, and prices were all genuinely excellent. Had the Monday country fried steak special, and it was just the right amount of food! Will come back when I'm back in Virginia!

I’m so glad we have this place to eat at in Great Bridge. First off, the staff is so warm and welcoming! I had an absolutely delightful breakfast experience today, and I must say, the longanisa and fried rice were out of this world! The moment I took my first bite, I was transported to a world of exquisite flavors and culinary bliss. The longanisa, with its savory and slightly sweet taste, was cooked to perfection. Each juicy bite was bursting with a wonderful blend of spices that left me craving for more. Paired with the fragrant and fluffy fried rice, it was a match made in breakfast heaven. The rice was expertly seasoned and had a subtly buttery aroma that complemented the succulent longanisa impeccably. This combination was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate, leaving me in awe. The pancakes were delicious and my wife loved the bagel sandwich. It's safe to say that this meal has set the bar high for all future breakfasts. We can’t wait to try everything!

Food was outstanding. Had a sweet potato biscuit it was so delicious. But a bit pricey. We had two biscuits and water and it was $20

Omgosh! What a find! Went for the first time this morning and I loved it! The food was great, service with a smile and great atmosphere. It's bigger than I thought, comfy and welcoming!

Had the Filipino Breakfast with pork Tocino with scrambled eggs and fried rice. It tasted like mom's cooking and reminded me of home. Its Phillipino owned and operated. Yes it is small and you will more than likely have to wait to be seated but you will live the food and the prices. I highly recommend this place and will most definitely be back

Guy beside me asked "what kind on sausage is that?" And I was like ugh....I said to him.. "If a man asks another man... what kind of sausage you got?" you tell him... and I respected him for that 😃 it's "long-ganisa" by the way, it's a sweet sausage pun intended.

Very nice breakfast and speedy, friendly service. We love this place for a weekend breakfast!

This is hands down the best place in Chesapeake for breakfast. They are always delicious and the staff is so friendly. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.

Also there Thursday special of chicken and dumplings is wonderful better than what mom use to cook.

So if you are looking for a great breakfast at a reasonable cost with friendly staff then this is must visit place

Hands down the best breakfast place in Chesapeake. It always feels like being welcomed into a home.

Feels like going to Grandmas house for breakfast! We love the atmosphere and try to go at least once a week.
