What an awesome dinner experience my husband & I had today. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Randy. The restaurant’s cleanliness was outstanding including the restrooms. The food was absolutely amazing & delicious. Ashley R., our server was excellent and readily available to us. The next time we visit Chesapeake Virginia we will definitely return. Thank you to the exceptional Surf Rider Staff, you are amazing.

Nice place for sea food. Just can be crowded on Sundays.

This place was really good. The service was amazing, and I loved the small town feel it had. The food was really good, for me it had a certain element missing tho, not some huge thing that made it undesirable just small things. So the menu is poorly laid it I didn't see on it drinks or sides for your meal. The food was great but it just needed that little extra zing. That very small detail kind of stuff was missing. 8/10 for the price and quality.

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in my life, Here is why:

1 The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint and it was also clean.

2. The service was outstanding! My drink didn’t get half way empty before refilling.

3. The food was fresh and delicious— the portions are generous, to say the least.

4. The value for the money is well worth it.

Crab cake was the best I've had in years.. Colossal shrimp and they know the meaning of.lighly breaded. A cabbage sized broccoli tree. The real deal. Great spot.

Food was awesome! Great service and friendly staff.

Took my mom here for her birthday. She enjoyed the food. I wish there were more options for vegetarians. Our server MacKenzie was a jewel. Very polite, attentive, and professional

I enjoy dining at Surf Rider food is always fresh, hot and delicious 😋.

The food is pretty good. We have so many great seafood options this one doesn't necessarily stand out above the others.

When we arrived the hostess said the kitchen was short staffed and it would be a 20 minute wait. About 7 minutes later she calls our name and we get seated. Waitress comes fairly quickly and takes our drink order, brings the drinks and then takes our order. We're thinking it's going to be awhile. 10 minutes later we got our food, cooked to perfection. The only thing I can think of is The Flash is out of the superhero business and is working the kitchen at Surf Rider.

The food and service were amazing. The shrimp are huge and perfectly fried without a ton of breading

Our waitress Jess was fabulous. We had our DC girlfriends Christmas Luncheon for Toys for Tots! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great & we all donated a gift to Toys for Tots. Connie Stanton was gracious enough to deliver the toy's & filled the empty basket. We will be back to Surf Rider in January to enjoy some more great food and service!! Thank Ya'll so much for everything ❤

This is my local Surf Rider restaurant.

It is small, but amazing. I would advertise it as one of the most desirable destination restaurants in my little corner of the world.

Their claim to fame for me is the cleanest frying oil in Southeastern, Virginia. I go there to order fried seafood. I only go there to order fried seafood. And I have never received an order that had any off tastes or tastes that felt burnt in any way.

Most frequently, I go there specifically for their fried clam strips, but all of their fried seafood rates 10 out of 10.

I have been to four locations over time, and in every location, their staff have been friendly and engaging and helpful.

Anybody you see eating there is probably there because they love this restaurant and they chose to go there.

A very popular place on a Sunday. The shrimp tacos are delicious and the fish and chip basket is very good. The portions were large and the fish basket came with coleslaw and hush puppies. I wish they didn't use tilapia for the fish but otherwise a delicious meal.

Love, love LOVE this place. GREAT FOOD! Ordered a seafood platter delicious! My Caesar salad was great; scallops were wonderful!!! Missed having hush puppies though

The Surf Rider in Western Branch is a hidden gem. The only thing better than the food is the service. We normally visit the restaurant once a week. The seafood is cooked to perfection. Not fancy, just good down home southern seafood. Their seafood selections are always fresh and delicious.
