Dr. Schlapper has been my doctor and friend for years, he actually cares about his patients, he loves to talk to everyone about their daily life and is very understanding of his patients needs, his staff especially Rachel which is no longer there, She was my favorite staff, her and Amanda. His new desk clerk Lydia she seems pretty cool, she’s actually a return staff member. But everyone there is always nice. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better doctor , Dr.S is truly an amazing person, inside and out 💜

I have been seeing Dr. Schlapper for many years and he is great! However Rachel, the receptionist at front desk, makes the experience exceptional! She's professional, efficient and knowledgeable, yet fun and down to earth! Thank you for always making me feel like a priority!!

My first appointment with Dr. Schlapper was a week ago. When you walk in for your appointment you are not looked down upon or dismissed quickly. The office staff is inviting and friendly and will help with any questions you may have. Dr. Schlapper is hands-down one of the best doctors I have seen in my 44 years of life! His demeanor and bed-side manner is caring, calm, positive, knowledgeable, thorough, attentive, and personal. Honestly, what a wonderful thing to have, a doctor who actually cares about my well-being, is easy to talk to and takes his time to explain his thinking. He's a great doctor!

Been seeing Dr. Schlapper for many years now. I highly recommend him! I've had a lot of bad experiences with other doctors, but Dr. Schlapper is the best Doctor I have been to in my entire life. He's non judgemental and provides a safe and comfortable environment. The staff is amazing too! I am so thankful for The Healing Center.

Visited Dr Schlapper today for the first time. Was apprehensive but Amanda at the front desk assured me I'd come to the right place. She made it easy and welcoming right from the start. Dr Schlapper was everything and more the rest of the reviews say. Very professional, caring and interested in my life. He took his time talking with me and gave me hope. I totally recommend this practice. They are Angels!!!

I moved down to FL almost 5 year ago, I started seeing Dr. Schlapper after being down here maybe 2 months. He is hands down the best physician I've ever been under the care of. As many others have written, I fully believe he is not only in it for the money and actually cares about his patients. The previous physician I was seeing when I lived in Washington DC had me on quite a few different medications that shouldn't be taken together, on top of giving me far too much of each. After telling Dr. Schlapper about this, he then explained to me why they shouldn't be take together, side effects, etc. The next thing I know we had been talking for over an hour, he is the greatest doctor I have ever met and would recommend him over anyone else every time. Thank you Dr. Schlapper for all that you do.

Dr. Schlapper is awesome. Do yourself a favor and become a patient. He listens and talks to his patients while treating them with respect and kindness. I'm not sure if the added DO training makes him a better and more compassionate doctor, but he is a rare breed among "cattle herders". He doesn't rush you out the door, calls in medicine between appts if you can't get in right away. Not to mention his experience and medical knowledge. Unfortunately, most doctors don't feel they have to be nice or lend an ear to their patients. They just tell you to "Suck it up, what do you want me to do?" The first thing Dr. Schlapper says to me when I walk in is "Hi Dan, how have you been? How's work going? Anything new in the IT world?" He knows my name, where i work, and if I started eating breakfast yet? Can't say enough good things about him.

I love Dr Schlapper! He will go above and beyond for you-I don't know many docs that will do that. He has the heart that's needed for this community. I recommend going to him over any of the other doctors in deland! And his office staff is quite amazing as well. I couldn't be happier with him as my Doctor!

Dr Schlapper is very thorough and genuinely cares and actually listens unlike most doctors who just want your money. He's empathic with his patients and doesn't just rush through the exam. I highly recommend to anyone needing a primary doctor.

Dr Schlapper is an amazing doctor. Not only is he an awesome pain management & substance abuse dr but he also treats all of his patients as a Primary Physician. He is thorough, compassionate & caring. He asks about your job, your children, your general well being. He has outstanding bedside manor & i feel blessed to have him as my doc. Sometimes the appointments are lengthy but I appreciate the time he takes, he has set the standard for drs in his realm. He doesn't just throw you an rx and send you on your way. He listens & follows up. Prescribes me heartburn medication in addition to my opioid. Did you read that right? Yes my opioid dr also prescribes me heartburn medication. Not because I requested it but he suggested it after the feedback received from me through his thorough "check up" type appointments. You will not find another substance abuse dr like Dr S. He genuinely cares to see you actually get well & stay healthy. Not just to take your money & send you on your way with an RX like most sub Drs. Dr Schlapper is doing it right!

Also, his girls work extremely hard & create a friendly, inviting environment. Especially Amanda. She is knowledgeable & if she says she is going to do something, she does it! You can count on her! It's so appreciated & she deserves a round of applause for her dependency & work ethic. All the girls are lovely.

My experience with Dr. Schlepper has been nothing short of fantastic. He is a wonderful listener, caring and compassionate practioner. I would recommend him to anyone. He takes his time and really gets to know you and keeps your best interest in mind. Excellent experience!

I've been seeing Dr. Schlapper for about a year now, and to this day the comfortable and caring feeling I receive at each visit is humbling. Dr. Schlapper is forthright, thorough, respectful, empathic, humane, personal and so much more, but if I had to sum the care he has given me down to one word AMAZING would be the word I use. He takes his time to make sure all of my needs are met to the best of his ability. He makes sure all of my questions are answered to the best of his knowledge and wisdom. He has assisted me in making drastic and important changes to my life to assure my better health and well being, changes that I would have been unable to make on my own. Never once have I felt judged or ashamed to talk to him or Lydia (nurse/assistant) about any problems I may be having. He genuinely cares for his patients and goes above and beyond to make sure I'm getting the care I need. Dr. Schlapper is one of a "last of a dying breed" of doctors that are actually passionate about their profession of taking care of others. He isn't ONLY "in it for the money". I'm fortunate to have Dr. Schlapper as my health care provider and with continue to see him for years to come.

Oh, and of course I can't forget Lydia, Dr. Schlapper's nurse/assistant. Lydia is always cheerful, respectful, patient, and organized. She has great communication skills making sure to remind me of and confirm every appointment. She's a professional in the true sense of the word, but yet as friendly and as kind as she can possibly be. She truly makes each experience at the office one to remember, always treating the patients as equals. I've never felt embarrassed or belittled while talking to Lydia, and I'm grateful to be up under the care of Dr. Schlapper and herself. All in all if you're looking for a great Doctors office where you won't feel judged and will be treated as a normal human being, than give Dr. Schlapper's office a call. Trust me you won't regret it!!

Absolutely...the best doctors office I’ve ever been to! From Ms. Lydia at the front desk to Dr. Schlaper himself it was an all around great experience. The Dr went out of his way to help me. They are NOT the type of doc office that just takes your money and boots you out. They are so friendly and polite.

Always a pleasant visit with Dr. Schlapper, been seeing him for years and he makes me feel like one of the family. His new office is 2239 South Woodland Ave. Deland, FL 32720. Its right across from the Hyundai dealership in the same plaza as the Boost Mobile store. They have a whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man outside, its awesome!

Dr schlapper was an amazing doctor I unfortunately had to move or else I would still be seeing him. He was extremely compassionate and actually cares about his patients. I would recommend anyone in the DeLand area to see him.

Dr shappler is one of the best drs I have ever had he is very understanding I have been his patient for over a year and I highly recommend him to any one who is looking for very good Dr. The staff is wonderful too I love how friendly they all are and how beautiful the new office is.I have told many of my friends who were looking for a good Dr to go see him they have and are also happy with him!!!
