The hotel was clean and our room was a great value. The bed was so comfortable and the room surpassed our expectations. We've stayed here a few times in the past and love the location. The onsite restaurant is great. The beach is extremely close and beautiful. We prefer to stay outside of the downtown because we can relax, enjoy the many local restaurants and be close to the beach. When we want to go into the historic district, it's a very short trip.

Fantastic resort. When we stayed there, the room was absolutely perfect! The staff was extremely helpful and hospitable. And the location was great as well. It was within reasonable walking distance to downtown.

Nice spacious suites with great rates perhaps due to new management and renovations going on. Only ground floor rooms available. Minutes walk to the beach. Restaurant on site though no free breakfast, you do get 10% off. They also provide free shuttle to the city if you buy the trolley tours.

My partner and I love this hotel we’ve stayed twice now and will always come here when we visit St. Augustine now! Prices are very reasonable especially considering we had a very nice room with a huge whirlpool tub and a view of the ocean. La Cocina is the restaurant inside and it’s amazing highly recommend eating there for breakfast and dinner at least once! Walking distance to the beach and only about 10-15 minutes from the downtown area

I loved this hotel especially the largest room with large tub in the room and gym, sauna and steam room on the 4th floor nearby. From the hotel it is a short walk to the beach. The St Augustine Fort, old colonial town with restaurants and shops are a short drive away.

Unfortunately the manager told me the hotel was sold and being renovated and the steam room, sauna in the gym and hot tubs in the rooms are being removed which is my favorite reason for going there. I guess I have to find another place to stay.

The Castillo real is a phenomenal place to stay. From its gorgeous historic architecture to its welcoming staff, the Castillo real is the place to come if you’re visiting the lovey area around it. Ronda especially was amazing. She was Incredibly helpful and friendly. Her service combined with everything the Castillo real has to offer has made our vacation and Christmas time perfect.

We had a great stay at Castillo Real. Check in was easy, room was nice and clean. Location is perfect, right by the beach and just a short drive to the lighthouse and then over the bridge to St. George Street. We got 10% off breakfast for staying here and prices were reasonable for breakfast. We loved the potatoes - everything was hot and fresh! There may be some nicer places to stay in St Augustine, but overall this place is a good experience for the price!

I was going to rate this hotel 3 stars because the hot tub/pool was out of order and the rooftop seating area closed due to a broken door. But after extending our stay by one night at the BW hotel across the street I realized how clean and nice the rooms were. I will stay here again. The rooms are huge, quiet and clean with central ac that is controlled by thermostat.

If you are reading reviews and trying to decide between this hotel and the Best Western across the street go with this one. The Best Western might have a working hot tub but the rooms are loud, small, and wet/mildewy (every surface was wet and did not dry) with terrible ac wall units. We didn't eat at the restaurant because the menu was limited and not good for a vegetarian. Hopefully next time we stay the amenities at Castillo Real will be in working order.

Absolutely love this place. We've stayed here 3 different times over the past 8 years and it's always on point. Clean and safe. The restaurant is Absolutely Awesome.

My husband and I had a truly enjoyable stay at this resort. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that no expense was spared on the construction. Unlike many places that claim to be resorts, this one genuinely lives up to the label.

During check-in, Vanessa warmly greeted us and provided excellent service. However, there was a slight hiccup when we arrived at our room and found the door open, indicating it wasn't ready yet. We had to wait for an hour after check-in, which was a bit inconvenient after hours of road-tripping, and I really needed to use the restroom.

On the bright side, the housekeeper was incredibly friendly when she came out of the room. Seeing her diligently cleaning surfaces reassured us, especially after encountering poorly cleaned rooms at other facilities during our trip. The front desk lady (not Vanessa) did seem a bit frustrated that the room wasn't ready, but she did apologize for the inconvenience.

Apart from the room delay, the resort's top-notch amenities, welcoming staff, and cleanliness made our stay truly memorable. However, one disappointment was the coffee provided at the resort, so I decided to take a leisurely walk to a coffee shop about a half-mile down the street in search of a better cup to start my day. Overall, our experience was positive, and we enjoyed our time at the resort.

Also: super short walk to the beach, which is located just steps away from the property. No busy streets to cross to get to the beach.

Beautiful and clean. Nicer than I expected it to be. Friendly staff, very large rooms. Zero entry pool, jacuzzi, and splash pad mushroom. Beach is not even a block's walk, many restaurants within walking distance.
I will definately be coming back!!

Front desk staff was very kind. Allowed us to check in almost 3 hours early when one of our kids was sick. Also provided two parking passes when the norm is one. Thank you very much. Location is perfect and pool area is clean and nice.

Great place! Staff was very accommodating, room was very clean and comfortable. Linens were good quality, steam room and sauna were nice also. Nice to be able to walk straight out to the beach, plus the pool and hot tub were clean and not over-chemical smelling.

First time staying in St Augustine/St Augustine Beach area. This was just my wife and I. Check-in was easy, and staff waa knowledgeable and gave some great suggestions for things to check out and which restaurants to eat at. Since we were there in December the lobby was beautifully decorated. The room was very spacious. If you are a back or stomach sleeper you will likely love the bed, side sleepers you may not enjoy it as much. The shower is big and spacious lots of room to move around but the shower pad they had was a little small. The pool did not appear to be heated but the hot tub was nice. Short walk down the side street to the beach.

We spent 3 nights here and found everything at the hotel to our satisfaction. The rooms were large and everything was clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Its only a 2 minute walk to the beach. The area seemed good and the parking lot well lit and safe.

I love this hotel! Love the hot tub, the jacuzzi tub, and spacious suite; steam room and sauna, and wonderful and kind people at the desk. 10/10 stay. The only suggestion is not to advertise a business center when there really is not one. there is a desk at the lobby area but it is not at all quiet; you hear people constantly coming in and out.

My girlfriend and I stayed there during bike week in Daytona Beach. It was amazingly beautiful inside. And the rooms were spotless and spacious. The access to the beach is right there. A+ rating we were overly pleased with our stay.

This place is perfect! Easy 1/2 block walk to the beach, easy drive to Amphitheater. Plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance, too. Rooms and hallways were super clean. Bathroom beautiful and great shower. Pool area is really nice.
