Maxwell Hall Park

It’s a great place for a quiet walk in nature.There isn’t much there other than a few trails for hiking as well as equestrian. The trails appear to be on the outskirts of a working farm. We took the red trail and it was a nice, easy and quiet two mile walk. The trail circles around a large open field but there’s a nice wooded portion of the trail that runs along the river. The power plants not.the prettiest but it still has some nice water views.

We did the blue trail with our 4 children ages 2, 5, 7, 10. They enjoyed playing with the sand by the water. We saw a snake, a turtle, a lot of dragonflies and butterflies. The blue trail is stroller friendly so next time we go, we'll put our 2 year old in the stroller.

Awesome trails, hidden gem. Careful with the directions if using maps, though!

Nice place for a very easy and relaxing hike

I grew up with these trails, my grandfather used to own the property. Actually connects through three parks. The trails on Teagues Point are the furthest west, which connect to the Maxwell Hall Property and the historic maxwell hall house (you can park at the gate and walk back if just interested in the house, there's also a river trail that goes straight back), which connects to the equestrian trails (most variety of trails). They ALL will put you out at the water at some point. The blue trail is the longest but most fun, because there's a beach. Youre not technically supposed to ride bikes (bicycles, not the motorized kind), but I do because it's good exercise. Just move out of the way if you see a horse. Also, be careful of snakes.

Loved this place. Well kept and great for walking/horse back riding. Very peaceful we will be back!!

Nice, clean beautiful park with access to river.

Good Parking. Easy to follow trails. Actually saw a Bald Eagle at observation deck with an info sign about Bald Eagles. No facilities at the hiker parking area

Well maintained trails good for walking and running. The blue trail has an eagle nest on it, you can see the pair often.

Great trail riding venue! ($10 fee if not a member) Lots of different terrain... Sturdy mounting blocks at each picnic area.

Great for hiking and also for horses.

Beautiful scenery.

Hikers stick to the brown trails. We ventured all the way to the blue trail and us and our dogs we're covered in 60+ ticks. Also, on portions of the trails by the fields the flies were miserable.
