Calvert Cleaner & Tailoring

Looking for a place that would press my husbands dress shirt and pants. Called around and everywhere else told me it wasn't enough time. Called Calvert cleaners & tailoring and the women on the phone was very polite and told me I could pick them up same day. Didnt get there till almost 2pm and they were still able to press his clothes. Told me i can pick them up at six. They were a life saver and i will be using them again in the future.

A bit pricey, but decent

Took a shirt in to be dry cleaned. It came back damaged (burned). Owner refused to take responsibility for the damage. She insisted that we brought it in stained. We have used this business many times over three years, we have never brought anything in with a stain. Today, rather than be responsible for the damaged shirt, they choose to lose customers. Do NOT take uniform items to them, they will end up damaged.

When I tell you this is the most unprofessional place, I mean it. And with no hesitation. They brutally ruin girls prom dresses, and don’t even give a full refund, or pay for the dress they decide to destroy because they don’t know what they’re doing. Not only do they not pay for anything they ruin, but the amount of planning and time that goes into events like prom, and picking out a dress is all wasted down the drain and something fun and exciting turns into something traumatic because someone couldn’t do there job right. Prom is supposed to make a girl feel beautiful, and this place will make it look ugly if you get a dress tailored here.

I beg of new and returning customers to never use this dry cleaners or tailor. I don’t usually write reviews, in fact, I created an account just to write this review. My sister wedding was roughly two weeks away and I stopped in for a simple alteration which consisted of taking in the waste and hemming the leg. She told me it would be completed by Friday evening (2 days until the wedding). I picked up the pants Friday evening without trying them on (it was close to them closing and I didn’t want to inconvenience them)(mistake). I arrived home to realize they did not do anything. In fact, she marked them and rehung them as if she did. When we returned, she insisted that we must pay again despite already paying. When we returned later that evening to pick them up, we brought the issue up again and she insisted that we never brought the pair of pants in and that the pants she most recent worked on are a different pair and insisted we pay again. Once again, I hope this keeps someone from having the same issues in the future. There are plenty of other tailors/dry cleaners in the area, go there and avoid being scammed by incompetent, money hungry, POS :)

Unreal! Lady just priced me $40. Each for 3 pairs of drapes which was fine until She tried to charge me 40. For just the tie backs nope, born at night not last night..

I wish I had linked this location to the one in Lusby, apparently they are the same group and have similar reviews. Went to have a dress altered for a wedding. The price was high but he was hemming the gown, adding straps and bringing in the sides. I figured that a “master tailor” could handle it. I gave them 7 WEEKS to do the job. I went in the day before it was scheduled to be ready and they said I needed to come back tomorrow at 4:00pm. I called at 3:00pm the next day( the due date) and they said it wasn’t ready and I should come at 4:30. At 4:00pm they called me and said that I should come at 5:30 because he was still working on it. Remember he had 7 WEEKS to do this!!! I couldn’t make it because I had to be somewhere at 6:00pm and told them I would have to pick it up on Monday. I said that I had given them 7 WEEKS to do it and asked what the problem was and they said that it was a big job and they were very busy. So I arrived on Monday at 8:00am and found that the dress was done but incorrectly and poorly. The straps were too long and not removable (as I had requested) and the gown was too long in the hem. What was more irritating was that there were thread ends sticking out of the bodice where he had done the work and not clipped them, and beads were loose and/or missing. They didn’t have the dress steamed or ready. They offered to dry clean the dress for free and fix the straps later. I am not sure whether I will bring it back to them. After I complained, they finally apologized.

First of she wanted to force my son to pay in full, she tailored my sons suit and charged him 140$ to shorten the arme a little and the legs. That’s insanely over priced. That’s a rip off

I took a black and white formal gown there to be dry cleaned and they ruined the gown. The white part turned gray. The owner claimed it was a "manufacturer defect" but there is no proof behind that statement. When I expressed displeasure at the outcome, the owner insisted that I must still pay for the ruined garment. We disputed back and forth until I finally told them to keep the dress and left without paying. I have no idea why they expected me to pay for a ruined garment. I have heard of other dry cleaners that not only waive the fee when something goes wrong, but also reimburse thw customer for the ruined garment. Guess I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Please do not leave your valuable clothes for cleanig here, those might be gone forever. I came to get back my husband's suite they could not find it, so the owner said she will call me. She called and said that I or my husband already pick up the suite. I returned with the receipt that they issued for pick up, but the owner said that she returns clothes without receipt. I asked the owner if she could check who paid for the cleaning, she said that it was paid by cash. It looks like everybody can pick up your clothes there!
