Garrett Music Academy

My daughters have been taking lessons at Garrett for several years now, on a few different instruments, and with different teachers. We have had consistently great experiences, and I always recommend Garrett to other parents looking for lessons for their kids. The teachers that they have had have not only been knowledgeable, but my kids have really enjoyed working with them and they have been very understanding and have seem to do a wonderful job adapting lessons to right where my kids’ skill level is. The office folks have been great as well. For example, when lessons need to be re-scheduled, they are very responsive and prompt with communication. I highly recommend Garrett for music lessons!

Our daughter has enjoyed her piano lessons each week and she looks forward to practicing and showing off her new skills! It was so easy to communicate with Garrett Music Academy when trying to plan dates and times for her lessons. We love attending!

Garrett Music Academy has all the different ways to approach learning music from learning music theories to joining a musical group: writing, composing and performing your own songs. All with a dedicated, multi skilled trained staff and teachers. If you love music, you will find something to fit you and participate in here. Music is a universal language open to anyone from anywhere. This is a great place to start learning that language.

My sons take instrumental lessons at Garrett Music Academy. I am so pleased with the quality of instruction and professionalism of this music school. The teachers are terrific and my children love them, I highly recommend Garrett Music Academy for all budding musicians!

Our kiddo (5 y/o) comes here for beginner piano lessons and absolutely loves it. This is in huge part to Mrs. Christa who is a fantastic music teacher! Mrs. Christa's energy and teaching approach works well with our little ones learning style. We look forward to the lessons to come.

My 6 year old has been attending for over a year for Music Intervention. She has a speech delay but the music intervention has really helped her improve her speech. She loves her lessons with Ms. Krista and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I’d highly recommend them!

Garrett Music Academy has provided my children with high quality, flexible music lessons that have fostered a love of playing and creating music. My kids have been able to continue playing and learning while balancing sports, school, family time, and other priorities. My 12 yo daughter takes acoustic guitar lessons with Matt once a week and has been playing for two years. We moved to Calvert County and needed to find an instructor closer. Aly Cross recommended GMA and I think she’s made great progress. She loves it and is happy after every lesson. Matt curtails the lesson to her interests after asking her what she likes to listen to. She’s been learning from him for over a year and her skills have really improved. She’s happy, so I’m happy. The admin staff is also a pleasure to work with and very responsive.

My Daughter has really enjoyed the time she spends at Garrett Music Academy. She has taken some voice lessons as well as participated in the Making the band summer camp. It is a terrific way to enjoy her free time.

Beginner piano lessons with Ms. Krista have been great — we chose to switch from bi-weekly classes to weekly after just two sessions. Ms. Krista quickly understood my daughter’s quiet personality type and has been patient and encouraging. She makes learning fun and my daughter always leaves feeling so proud of herself.

I have had the best experience with GMA. I have been taking virtual guitar lessons every week for several months which is convenient with my job and family. Scott is a great instructor! My daughter also enjoyed going to a day camp at GMA and wants to go to another event soon. We definitely recommend to check them out!!

Really nice environment. You are immersed with Music from you enter the building. We have patient and professional instructors: Andrew, Julian, Kara. The substitutes were so fun: Jonathan,Josh and Matthew. Lots of choices and all great options. They are consistent with lessons and with notice can be flexible with scheduling as your life allows.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Scott for six months and have made great progress. The guitar set up and repair workshop with Ben was well also well worth the time and money. Friendly people and great programs for everyone.

My daughter has learned so much from her tutor in her 1.5 years here! Mr. Jones has created a music lover out of her. I wish that I had an instructor like him when I was in band.

The Find Your Voice program has been a huge help for my teen to learn to express themselves in a productive way. Krista has been a great teacher and influence! Highly recommend
