The absolute best CPA ever! We use them for our business and personal taxes and they are always so helpful, reliable and kind. Been using them for almost 10 years now and would never go anywhere else!

Mark has been preparing my taxes and giving me tax advice for three years now. He is an honest, first-rate guy who charges reasonable rates. I give him my highest recommendation.

Mark and his crew are the best at what they do in Gastonia. Went through two "bookkeeping" places and then found Mark. Very reasonable prices for business needs, payroll and always prompt answers.

My husband and I have used them for 20 years. We were happy until a couple of years ago. This year was unacceptable. My husband dropped our paperwork work off on 4/13. They said they would have to file an extension. I had him call and ask them not to file the extension if they were going to charge for it, because I can do that online for free. They had already done it. Fine. He picked our return up, and it was almost $400 for a simple return. I called to ask why they charged more for a personal return than they did last year for my business return. (my business has since closed) The receptionist told me I didn’t file a business return last year. I definitely did. I know when my business closed. Crystal got on the phone and started yelling at me. I asked her why she was being so aggressive when I only asked a simple question, and in a calm manner. She had no good answer. All of this to say, I will definitely not be using them again. This is not the first time she’s been grossly rude to me, but it was the last.

Until today, 02/24/2022, it’s been a great.

Today, I phone Crystal Stephens to see if they would call their customers if they (the company) saw any issues with the customer’s paperwork. Since Covid, a lot of folks aren’t seeing folks in person, I can respect that.
What I can’t respect is unprofessionalism.
She was defensive, which there was no need to be defensive.
She wouldn’t hear anything I was trying to convey to her. The phone conversation boiled down to her saying that I should not bring my paperwork to them. I hate that it came to this over a simple question.
She was very sweet in the begin. You may have a better experience than I if you choose this company for your tax preparation needs. Unfortunately, after that phone call, I can no longer give them my business.

I'd give zero stars if it were an option. I did not deal with Mark Stephens but the receptionist and Crystal Stephens. Both were unprofessional and rude. I never even got and explanation of my return from the tax preparer. I was asked to sign my husbands name on our tax return. I was asked to pay before being given any info about my return. ( had to call and ask to speak with Crystal and she was rude and defensive and didn't seam to care about customer service at all)
Do not use this CPA.
