This place is simply amazing. It is an art deco theater that was transformed into a restaurant. All the cameras and film found in the building had been placed all throughout the restaurant and give it an authentic art deco theater feel. The service and waiters are absolutely friendly and very informative. The food which is the most important is phenomenal from the main entrees to the spectacular desserts. My family and I have been bringing friends and relatives to this restaurant for the last 4 years.

If there is a con to this place it would only be the Porterhouse Club challenge which my son decimated because that steak is so delicious and we still don’t see his name on the wall.

Other than that. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

WOW. So nice and fancy. It is one of the best high-end restaurants but for a decent price. We were in the area and decided to stop by. What an amazing experience it was. We will be coming here again for sure even though it's a 45 min drive for us. We didn't plan for a fancy restaurant, so we set at the bar. Burger is top of the line, and wings are amazing. Next time, we will get a stake or ribs. I do have one note to management. Train your bartenders to look at customers as they walk by. I needed a refill and 5 different bartenders walked by and never looked at me. I didn't feel like yelling or waving my hands in this nice place. Other than that, it was perfect.

I’ve been here 2x most recently with my partner. The food was AMAZING, the staff is very knowledgeable of the buildings history and it’s actually a very cool and beautiful place. I recommend it to everyone! I love sitting on the balcony and enjoying the movies they play on the projector. We ordered the short ribs, spinach risotto, Mac n cheese, pumpkin cheesecake and a chocolate & peanut butter cake/cheesecake, wings and their Mozzarella Grille. Also the lemon drop martini and margarita was fabulous!

Went there for the first time last night and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Our waitress was very kind, able to answer any questions we had, and very attentive. The food and drinks were fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful. The place was clean and multiple people worked to make it better for us at our table. The staff was all super respectful and helpful. I can't recommend the duck cigars and the castaway enough. I'd also recommend the crimson pirate if you don't mind strong alcohol.

What a lovely space! And the food itself was phenomenal. I had the braised beef with Yukon gold potatoes & my husband had the filet - also had the Phantom cocktail and it was so so tasty! 100/10! Service was beyond what we could have asked for. Our server even explained the entire history of the building etc. could not be happier! Will visit many times over.

We went for our anniversary. It was my 1st time there and his 1st time for dinner. It is a beautiful interior space. They play old movies in the background bc it is an old movie theater. (No volume, just the picture) At 1st, they sat us downstairs, which we did not like. The tables were closer and it was loud. We requested upstairs, and it was completely different. It is much quieter and more romantic. The food was delicious. We got the angry lobster for an appetizer, salmon, and strawberry salad with salmon on top for entrees. The waitress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. She took several photos for us and suggested drinks. We both loved it and will definitely be going back.

Beautiful restaurant that was converted from an old theater. The servers went above and beyond and gave my family an excellent experience; they were also very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended dishes for us to try.

We tried the duck cigars, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, short rib, and lobster tails. Portions were large, and the food was excellent. I had extra short rib to take home because I couldn’t eat it all. The food all tasted fresh.

We had a dinner reservation and were seated upstairs, but didn’t have a view of the downstairs from where we were seated. It’s a real cool concept restaurant.

Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert so I wasn’t able to review that. If it’s anything like the entrees, I’m sure it’s delicious, too.

Webb Custom Kitchen located at 182 S South St, Gastonia, NC 28052 is a fantastic and quite gorgeous Restaurant. Previously being a Movie theater long ago, in the early 80’s closed and has been redesigned into this gorgeous Art Deco style Restaurant. Looking at the inside, you would assume that a meal here costs $200, but nope! Prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent! Server Magno N was also tremendous. Staff was helpful, and they worked hard to get my order right. Their Steak is out of this World I’m told . I got their Cheeseburger (lunch) and the wings / both great.
Highly recommended and a very, very good date, or special occasion place.

Oh my goodness. First, Olivia was an AMAZING server. Knowledgeable and very attentive. The atmosphere is exciting. Something new and different. The food was absolutely perfect in every way. The sounds from the kitchen, and movie on the wall above the kitchen, and music. I can't say enough about this place. It is well worth an hour plus drive to experience this wonderful dining venue!!

My experience here was awesome. I ate for brunch. The items I ordered was a mozzarella lettuce wrap as my app, duck crepes as my entree, and the upside down pineapple cheesecake. Everything was great and delicious. The atmosphere was perfect and inviting! This was first time ever going.

Wow! Great food and ambiance. Place was originally a movie theater and they kept the feel of the place and are now serving great food. Order the angry lobster and finish off with some steaks. You can’t go wrong.

My partner’s coworker suggested he take me here, but I surprised him for his birthday instead. I didn’t make a reservation because I had plans for us afterwards. The wait was an hour and a half so we just sat at the bar so I would highly recommend making a reservation specifically in the balcony section of possible. The bar staff were highly attentive and servers were fast too. Our food was superb except my potatoes needed to be warmer so they got me some fresh ones. I was pleasantly surprised by the charbroiled wings and was not expecting the cheesecake to be that big lol

We are from out of town and this was on our list to try. We made a reservation in advance and we got a balcony table. We overlooked the kitchen and I loved being able to see the open kitchen and not having the noise. Our server was good and our food was even better!! We ordered the crazy lobster, udon with seared tuna, shrimp and grits along with broccolini and asparagus. My husband loved the crème brûlée for dessert. Thanks for the great experience!

I recommended Webb Kitchen to my husband and my friend for Sunday brunch. Neither had ever been, and were apprehensive about trying a new restaurant. Nevertheless, with a little coaxing, they agreed to give it a try, and they enjoyed a flawless experience! Our server, Quinn, was familiar enough with the menu where he could answer our questions about flavor and texture and offer confident recommendations when we were deciding between dishes. We ordered The Big Short, 2 chargrilled chicken dishes with sides of shrimp, and a side of macaroni & cheese, sweet tea, and a strawberry margherita. None of us could finish our meals because they were so substantial, and we ate slowly to savor each bite. I sent my compliments to the chef (chef's 💋), which were well deserved. The presentation and plating was perfect, and everything was absolutely amazing.

I cannot say enough about our brunch experience at Webb Custom Kitchen. It's a beautiful venue for any meal. The food and service are top notch. Loved every minute inside this historic gem, originally a silent movie theater. Love the movies projected during the meal and sitting on the balcony level gave us the best interior views.

Really great food. The wings charred. Perfection. The French Connection was a little dry for me but all the flavors were there.

Atmosphere is bangin'. For some reason I felt they should have had a brick oven pizza. But maybe that's because I know they'd make great pizza. No one does.

Our waitress was super cool. Knew how to check in with us and not jover or disappear. We go out of our town (Lake Lure) to find fun places. When we head back this direction it's on our list.

Really cool atmosphere and more relaxed than I thought it would be. Food was a lil pricey but Really Good, so it was worth it. Only criticism I have is they need a bigger selection of steaks! The ribeye was Great but would have loved to try the porterhouse just wasn't in the mood to woof down a 40 ounce one! A smaller cut would be Nice!

Second time going here. I tried the steak the first time and was delicious. This time, i wanted something new, and got the voodoo shrimp and grits. It did not disappoint. The appetizers are great! I could just order the duck cigars and I'd be happy. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. This place is great for a date night or hanging with the guys/girls. You could rack up pretty quickly but the price you pay for the quality is worth it. Can't wait to go back.

Just fantastic -the food was excellent, service was great/ friendly, and the building is just plain neat( an old converted theatre). It is pricey but not crazy.... If I am choosing - Ruth Chris or this place - I'd go Webb ( and I LOVE Ruth Chris).
Same 1/24 this place is great.
