Never have I ever had anything but absolute delicious food (and service) here… and again today. My friend suggested 1/2 order of the Spinach Artichoke Dip (a plenty!) and Scallops appetizer (big, cooked perfectly and ab FAB!) and we added shaved ribeye egg rolls. Perfect trio for sharing and leftovers too (except the scallops). Those who already enjoy Mannings know what I’m talking about but if you’ve never been, put on your to do list!

We always enjoy the food at Mannings. We had another couple join us on a Sunday evening and were seated quickly. The service was prompt and friendly. We had the spinach artichoke dip (10/10) and chicken livers(8/10), which they adapted and put on their grits for us. I had the crab cakes entree (10/10) and my fiancé the ribeye, his go-to there that never disappoints (perfectly rare). We will be back for sure and probably bring friends!

Great place for a high quality dinner, really enjoyed our meal. My wife got the filet and loaded potato I enjoyed the dinner crab cakes over fried green tomato and baked potato with asparagus cooked too perfection. We will definitely be back.

Food and service is great! My only issue was the volume, but it's an older building, so it's not the restaurant's fault. Just a super busy night. Make reservations if you can.

We went to Mannings for the first time tonight.
The service was EXCELLENT. Our server Angela was attentive and thoughtful and anticipated most of our requests before we could ask for them. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could need or want.
We had the opportunity to interact with and observe many of the staff (including the owner) handle situations with grace, kindness, and care - we were impressed.
All of our food was good, and our drinks were kept full.
We sat in the middle of the downstairs dining room which was pretty loud. We still had a nice time, but it may not be the place to choose for an important conversation.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the total experience and will definitely return.

My fiance and I were in town from Florida and wanted to do something nice for my mom who recently lost her husband so we took her out to dinner and she absolutely loved it!! From the amazing food (my favorite were the crab and spinach dips and also the Luigi’s Linguine) and we had the best server name Angela who was so nice and down to earth. Thank you for making that night special for my mom. Will definitely be back when we come visit again in January!!

We came for an early dinner, definitely worth the 40-minute ride.
The food is excellent , and the service is top quality. I will definitely be back for another dinner with the family .

Fantastic place! We had brunch on a Sunday. Nathaniel made an amazing Bloody Mary and Chef made a heavenly filet with lobster cream sauce. Delight and Delish! Their wine list is pretty amazing as well.

Crispy ribeye rolls with bacon. Great! Had the full rack of ribs with a loaded potato n slaw on 2-20-24. Amazing!! Great BBQ sauce n meat just fell off the bone.

Manning's has had great food, sevice and atmosphere each time I have been. I ordered a side salad and baked potato this time and took half of the salad home for later. My bf enjoys being surprised by having the wait staff's favorite (no peanuts.) The steak was perfectly cooked and instead of salad, they brought broccoli with a slightly spicy sauce. It was wonderful.

First time here in several years. Solid experience. We were able to grab a table with no wait on a Friday. Parties bigger than two faced a long wait, and the coveted rooftop must be reserved.

Manning’s is casual but retains a slightly refined air. People come to hang out, or come dressed up for dates. You’re welcome either way.

We got the crab dip, which was delicious real crab.

They’ve got a couple of good beers on tap as well as cocktails and a martini list.

Our entrees were the sea bass/scallop pasta special, and the pesto primavera. All the seafood was excellently prepared. The primavera had more flavor than the special, but I understand not wanting to mask the sea bass or scallops too much.

Solid martinis after dinner - one dirty and one espresso.

Service was friendly, just a tad slow at times. But it’s all fine on a lively Friday with a good atmosphere to soak up.

We went here for our 43rd anniversary. We ate on the rooftop, and it was the perfect weather. The food!! We had the crab cake appetizer and ordered the ribeye for our dinners. I had the house salad with the best blue cheese dressing, and my husband had the Caesar salad. The meal also comes with a loaded baked potato. The food was perfection... steaks cooked perfectly to order! Our waitstaff was Drew and Alissa (sp?). The BEST! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and even though it was busy, we never felt forgotten. In fact, they were very attentive. Drew even brought us dessert (to go) as an anniversary gift. We highly recommend!!!!!

Local bar/restaurant that gets quite crowded on the weekends, reservations recommended. Really enjoyed the full rack if ribs that I had with coleslaw. Fried green tomatoes were also tasty. Tvs and a bar for watching sports available too

Went for a work outing and couldn’t have been more satisfied with this decision. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious. The cocktail we ordered was delicious. We sat upstairs on the rooftop deck and it was such a beautiful night and there was lots of space between tables which was great. Will definitely go back and will recommend to family and friends.

Outstanding food and service! One of NC's best kept secrets in dining. Everyone in my party enjoyed our recent dine-in experience. The menu is quite diverse offering steaks, seafood, pasta, salads and an array of appetizers. Portions are generous in size and the value is there for the quality. One of THE BEST crab cake entrees I've ever had, served over fried green tomatoes, and I requested a side of sauteed spinach and medley of vegetables. The only negative I can mention is the acoustics inside the building leave a lot to be desired. The noise level makes it challenging to engage in conversation. Look forward to returning when the weather warms and rooftop dining is an option. Highly recommend this dining establishment in the heart of downtown Clayton.

We had a birthday feast at Mannings downtown Clayton. We enjoyed the rooftop dining. The food was fresh and delicious. We had quite a few waiters attended to us. We were well taken care of! Thank you! 💖

The food for Mother's Day was amazing! I got the Lobster and Scallop Risotto special and it was worth the wait! The restaurant seemed a little understaffed for lunch, but the staff apologized for this upon entry. Great way to spend my Mother's Day lunch with family! We used the waiting time to talk and spend time together.

Mannings restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We had 12 people Ina group for my mom's birthday. We reserved a spot on the roof. It was absolutely beautiful, it was kind of cold and windy, but the employees came out and put heaters all around our table and had the fire pits next to us going. Our server was amazing, 12 people is a lot for one server but she did amazing, and was always ontopof things to make sure we had everything we needed. This place is great and I will most definitely be back.

Awesome as usual!! Food's great - Ribeye Egg Rolls are the best around as are the bone in wings. Big Bad Bacon BBQ & Brisket Burger was great!!! We frequent Manning's and haven't been disappointed yet. Friday night was busy but the staff manages it so well. TY Manning's - don't let up. Our family all would recommend!!!

First time visit to this local favorite. Sat at the bar because it was pretty busy when we arrived. Bartenders are very friendly and make great drinks. Locals are talkative, engaging and warm people. I ordered a chicken and avocado bacon sandwich with fries and my husband got a pasta dish. The patrons recommend the ribs and spinach. Southern fare comfort food is the hallmark of this restaurant. If you’re in Clayton, should definitely pop in for a bite!
