Great people who go out of their way to actually help. I was dealing with estate issues and no one had all the answers when I walked in but they made me feel so welcome while they worked to get the answers I needed. I am confident this process could not have been handled any better and am grateful for their service. This branch still has the "small-town, appreciate the customer feel" that is missing from a lot of banks. They are caring first and a business second which is rare today!

Best customer service around! Every time I email Miriam, she is always super quick to respond back and makes sure that all my needs are met. The ladies up front are always pleasant and helpful and the new loan officer for the Sylva branch had me in and out in minutes with a check for my new car. Great team! Thank you!!

Mountain Credit Union in Sylva has always helped me with everything I ever needed. I am very impressed with how fast they get things done. I have worked with many different people in this branch and it has been a great experience every time. I can walk in at any given time and they all have smiles and warm welcomes.

I have been going here for about 5 years now (June 2023). The loan officers have always been very friendly. The front desk staff have always been super helpful.

Their phone system was a bit wonky for a bit, but now they have a live operator (which, oddly, they announce ("We have an operator!") prior to connecting the call). The only criticism I have is they say they require a photo ID to open an account, even for kids. Kids don't usually have a photo ID. They're too young. That, however, is a policy issue. The people themselves are very friendly and helpful.

Their rates are competitive, and it is a small local "bank," so I know I am supporting local people and a local business. They also are active in and support the local community, for instance with scholarships for local college students. I highly recommend this credit union!

I can’t say enough about Mountain Credit Union. The branch manager Miriam helped me out so much. I was a brand new customer and she was so helpful. The whole staff at this location has been nothing but helpful and friendly. The tellers all have smiles when you go in and are very personable. Best Bank!!!

I recently opened and account for my self as well as my son at the Sylva NC branch of MCU and we are absolutely impressed and thankful for the service we've received. We had been banking at a large national bank for years but decided to seek a different type of bank, one with a more personalized and approachable service and that's exactly what we've seen so far. We've had interactions with the tellers, the bank officer who opened our accounts and even the branch manager and they have all been fantastic, clearly going above and beyond to ensure that our needs are met. We opened our account about seven months ago with MCU and we have been so pleased with not only the online banking but the staff as well! Just walking into the branch everyone has a smile and is willing to answer any and all questions without making you feel like it’s an inconvenience for them. We used to bank at SECU and were extremely disappointed with how they handled a few things. Even going into the branch was a horrible experience at SECU. We will never go back after having our accounts with MCU.

The staff are always amazing and super helpful anytime I have a problem. I have been banking with this credit union for many years and have never had a negative interaction with any of the staff. This credit union will always be my bank of choice for me and my family. Thanks for always being amazing ladies 😁. ( on a side note I do want one of the piggy banks 🙂)

The staff at the Sylva location are truly phenomenal, always incredibly helpful and sweet! They always greet you with a smile, makes me feel like part of the family and brightens my day! Great bank with an easy to use app, highly recommend!

I love this bank! Crystal Wallace is so helpful and goes above and beyond. I opened a business account with Cody Rogers who is also very helpful and always goes above and beyond to help. When my checks never came Crystal got on the phone with the company found out why and followed the progress until she had them in hand for me to come and pick them up straight from her!! I was so worried but she kept me informed and updated every few days! I couldn’t have asked for better service!!!

This branch is by far the best in town. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. They feel like family.
