We dropped our personal taxes off to Clay Blue in Fuquay Varina on 2/29/24. We followed up on at least 4 occasions to get status. We called twice today (tax day), no one answered. We stopped in to follow up and were told we could file an extension but may face penalties if we owed taxes. We asked for our information to be returned which they complied with. We then had to scramble to get our taxes done today after Clay Blue had them sitting around for over 6 weeks! We got NO warning that our taxes would not be completed by 4/15/24. A little communication and professionalism would have gone a long way in setting expectations.

I'll start by saying that Clay Blue basically ghosted us most of 2023 for our 2022 tax filings. I had to chase and practically beg to get any answers or progress on our books and tax preparations. I have multiple entities that were entrusted to this CPA firm, that was aquired approximately 2 years ago from Cyrus & Lynn CPA's, which I absolutely had zero issues with. Needless to say, we had to start over with a new firm to pick up and clean up where Clay left off. I was told in writing that my corporate tax returns for 2022 would be ready by December of 2023. Yes, Decemebr of 2023 for 2022 returns, you read that right.
To shorten this review, I'll finish by saying what prompted me to write this review is to hold them accountable, and to warn others before selecting this firm. I am now finding out that Clay didn't file my annual reports either, which I am currently doing myself. This firm cherry picks who they will service prompt and efficiently, if any.
