Visiting the first school for African American children in Savannah. As a former Principal, I felt honored to be in the space. I learned a lot that I never knew I didn't know. I suggest people join the African American Freedom Trail Tour when you come visit. Everyday 1pm and 3pm. They meet at the Savannah Visitors Center.

Incredible experience and tour guide. Learned so many new things that are not taught elsewhere. I love history, but 95% of the info was new to me. I left humbled in the best way equipped with a reading list. Fascinating exhibit and research on jockeys. A must visit in Savannah.

We really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot! Beautiful art and history. Our tour guide Johnathan was very kind, passionate, and informative. The gift shop supporting other Black businesses was quite nice and affordable. Only $10 for admission, so please tip for their friendly service!

This was a fabulous museum and one of our favorite stops of our trip to Savannah. The museum has lots of interesting exhibits (including both art and history) and our tour guide was so incredibly kind and informative. Mr. Winbush is running a fantastic museum. If you are like us and only visiting Savannah for the day - be sure to stop by. A great experience!

Had a great time! We had a tour guide so us around when we went but you can definitely visit on your own. They have a store front where you can buy information about African American history in significantly more detail than you would normally learn about. They also sell merchandise from local businesses in the area.

I visited through the Freedom Trail Tours with Mr. Johnny Brown. It was superb from start to finish! The best tour in Savannah, in my opinion!

Very, very educational and informative. I found truth and great appreciation for the past. The Almighty God really , really inspired men and granted wisdom in the journey to freedom. The collaborative efforts of both black and white men is notable. The artwork was mind-blowing and could have only been God inspired. I was motivated to embrace the future, with a great appreciation for the strides made in the black community. I left cognizant of similarities in behaviors from the past, still seen today; But, knowing that God is still at work.

We visited here as part of The Freedom Trail Tour. Very good information. The Color of Money exhibit was there along with other historical facts. Well worth the visit. The pic is Confederate money where slaves are shown. Such an informative tour.
