This is the nicest rest area I’ve been to. The parking lot is large. It has walking paths to stretch your legs or to sit on one of the many benches to relax. There are two covered pavilions. Each has eight round picnic tables that seat four people in each.

But it’s the inside of the Welcome Center that makes this rest area so nice. The tall ceilings allow for big displays including a tall lighthouse and lots of (fake) trees. There are hundreds of brochures to take and a few staff are happy to answer questions. Seeing pictures of Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth makes me want to visit northwest Georgia.

I like that they have signs with a QR code, phone number to call or text and web address asking for feedback. The building is open 24 hours for bathrooms and vending machines but the main hall is open from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. Pets are not allowed (only service dogs) inside the visitor center.

This is the first time we stopped here and cannot begin to tell you how cute it was inside. The bathrooms were super clean and they have coupons for a few attractions for Savannah. Got some cute pictures as well.

One of the nicest welcome centers I've seen in quite a while! Very accessible to all with handicapped parking and wheelchair accessible Ramps. A wonderful trail to walk, picnic area, and place to walk your dog as well. Very clean restrooms with plenty of room so no wait. Vending machines for snacks and drinks are on site. This location also has booklets and information for nearly every County in Georgia! Definitely a must stop if you want to see all of the Amazing Places you can visit throughout Georgia.

Very Clean, very Open and Bright.
Excellent info of all the attractions in the different areas of the State. This is a real compliment to the GA State Tourist Agency.

The welcoming station in Georgia is a beautifully designed location. A must stop if you're headed through that area and even if you're staying in Georgia. Lots of fun brochures about the entire State as well as a Forrest Gump display which is really cute. They even have a trolley car you can sit in and pretend you're driving. Lots to see a huge help desk with friendly staff waiting to answer all your questions.

20231104 They added a car since the last time I stopped here. Love the Christmas decorations.
20221106 Oh, WOW!!! This is the nicest Welcome Center that I have visited on the East Coast. I love how it provides the highlights of the State's offering. Love the alligator, the forest Gump statue, and the lighthouse, among other things. The women's restroom was ok. The grounds are nice, with paved walkways and a large pet walking area. Very dogfriendly! It's a bit tricky getting into the Welcome Center parking area. I took the first left after crossing the SC/GA border, and that took me to the weight station and truck and RV parking area. There's no hopping over to the Welcome Center. I just parked and walked over. Good thing I wasn't the only one who did that. Lol

This was a very impressive and beautiful state welcome center. It is large and had many items to see and plenty of information about the state's attractions and points of interest. We had passed by it a couple of times before but decided to check it out this trip. We are glad we did and now we have plenty of information to help plan a trip to the state. This is a great spot to make a pit stop from your road trip. There are large clean bathrooms and vending machines that have snacks and drinks, You can sit down at the tables in the vending machine area inside the air conditioned building or outside to enjoy the view.

This really isn’t a rest area, it’s more like a museum with bathrooms; very clean bathrooms. You can spend time here learning interesting facts about the Peach State. Super clean and very friendly staff.

America on Parade. Very large people taking pictures of kids sitting with fiberglass mannequin of a movie character from 30 years ago.

Conveniently located right near the entrance to both men’s and women’s restrooms.

A treasured family heirloom being made right there at the Welcome Center
