Good trail/discgolf park. Make sure you take a pic of the map in the beginning of the park if you are new.

The McClain Park disc golf course is a very technical course but offers some really fun terrain. Just keep in mind it stays fairly muddy after it rains.

I've been coming to this place for about 12-13 years. I love this place so much, I used to come and play this course everyday after work. Even if I didn't have anyone to go with me, I would still play by myself. Now I have a family that comes out with me to play this course. The holes are fun, and the environment is great. I love the feeling of wandering through the wilderness. I've played other courses, but this one is by far my favorite.

This review is of the disc golf course, which is beautiful. Heavily wooded and technical, so maybe rough for a beginner. Careful after a rain, though!

Excellent 18 hole disc golf course starting behind Long's Creek Elementary. Almost all of the course is "in the woods" with plenty of shade. Plays like a "figure 8" so you can easily play either 9 holes by starting and finishing close to the entrance. Course map at the beginning of the course. Take a picture of it! Nice small pavilion with 2 picnic tables under cover and 1 in the shade of the trees. Trash cans at many tee pads along the way and even some recycling bins next to some of them. For a smaller portion of the year, the local club will reverse the course so you play backwards. Tee boxes are near where the baskets would usually be and baskets near the boxes. It makes for a whole new course at the same place. Great for locals who can't really travel and play a lot. Pretty awesome. You can check the local Facebook pages to find out if it's regular or reversed at any time.

Went here for the second weekend this year and its an amazing disc golf park. An absolute gem in San Antonio. The community that frequents the park is very nice to newcomers, visitors, and newbies.

The course is challenging and fun. It rewards you for playing the game well, but isn't so difficult that beginners can't have a good time. My wife played her first round of disc golf ever here and she had an amazing time.

The park is beautiful. It could have just been a blighted area with an electrical easement. Instead its a beautiful park that is best experienced while playing a fun round of disc golf. Each Saturday we've visited the course we've been able to play a quick 18 then roll around for another 9 no problem.

Enjoy this exceptional city park the next time you're looking for something to do with a beautiful day. Great job San Antonio!

One of the best disc golf courses around.

3 Things to Know:

1) Parking lot is shared with an elementary school - drive slowly and park at the far end of the lot.
2) This park is notoriously muddy after a good rain, and best avoided for a couple of days after a storm.
3) Sometimes, the course is set up in reverse, i.e., the first tee is near the usual placement of the 18th pin, and the first basket is near the usual 18th tee. Then, on to 17, 16, etc.

What a large and beautiful disc golf course! We came out here a couple days after it had rained, and it was still a little muddy around, but still very playable. Plan to be here a whole day if you want to play the whole course, and check out the rules to see what rotation the field is being played. If you're not sure, ask one of the many nice folks that are there. Everyone was so friendly at this park!

We visited for the trails for my dog. Awesome disk golf course, nestled amongst the woods. There is a power line running through it that provided a great dog experience. Game trails are evident everywhere and your dog will enjoy all the smells. A friend recommended this park and he was on mark. I've never seen a better disk golf course. Enjoy San Antonio's best course, in my opinion.

Going back was so much fun! Even on one of the hottest days. Nice and shaded with open and technical shots, reminds me of my home courses back in Utah.

My favorite course in SA. It's set up so you can either do the front nine or the back nine easily from the parking lot. All 18 will probably take 2 to 3 hours, and its a fun challenging course. Definately wait a few days after rain though, unless you like mud.

Looking great, several fairways are tighter off the box with tree growth than in previous years.

Great disc golf course, unless it recently rained. A couple times a year they reverse the course to mix things up. Lots of trees that keep the short holes challenges

I look forward to playing this course any chance I get.

Course has had its bi annual move and it is now in its original layout. Grass was cut and other than a down tree near 3s tee pad, the course looks great.

Great course with lots of trees. A lot more technical than other courses, but it could use better signage. FYI it's reversed right now, so you start on the 18th basket and work backwards.
