Sante fe stack was the Friday special and it was delicious. Corn tortillas, steak, peppers, onions, eggs and sauce. Should be a staple in every Tex mex restaurant

I'm glad that this splendid restaurant has a convenient location. The prices are also nice. It's certainly worth checking out.

When they feed you, they feed you PLENTY! We been eating there for a long time and lo and behold their food has an authentic taste that just really meant to be real! Nothing fake, great service and at their best, they are impressive! El Matador is a place we adore! They start serving chips before we start to order what we want to eat! No wonder: it's full of people by the great crowds ready to chow down with EL MATADOR

Everything from the front door to leaving was 5 star. We were greeted with a very kind young lady, our server presented immediately, filled our drinks, our food choices were served within 15 minutes. The entire restaurant was clean. All staff were very friendly. Have not been there in years and it was as good as we remembered. Will definitely go back when in the area.

El Matador has never missed. Tonight was my sister in loves birthday, and the food was just as fabulous as it was when they catered our wedding day. The wait staff are experienced and know our family. They know my husband so well that he barely has to order, but they always get it right. I've eaten my far share of Mexican food but anywhere else they just can't beat our family favorite, El Matador.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years now, and I have never had a bad experience yet. I love their chips & queso, and their food is pretty good too. I always end up getting the chimichanga, but I know their enchiladas, and flautas are great as well.

The food is very delicious. I ordered the chicken fajita street taco and it was very flavorful. We also ordered the churros and they were absolutely amazing.

The food was simply delicious. Like, simple ingredients, simple meals, done very well. I had the street 2 chicken and 2 steak tacos, and they were fantastic! The steak was incredibly tender, and the chicken was juicy. We went there on a weekday and it seemed like it was slower than normal, but that didn't stop them from making a quality meal for us.

Sat down ordered queso it was out within minutes. Ordered our lunch and within 15 minutes of ordering our food was in front of us! My husband and I were both impressed✌🏼🤟🏼

Hidden gem. Don’t let the humble exterior fool you. I had the tamales and my husband fajitas. Both were excellent. Save room for the churros. They were to die for. The staff was very friendly.

Never disappointed here. You can find all of the normal menu items people go to a Mexican restaurant for but they go above and beyond. There are surprisingly diverse options for vegetarians that are tasty and plenty of options for smaller meals too when you just don't need a giant platter.

I've only had normal margaritas here which have always been great but my friends and family have been more adventurous and loved their drinks too so it's worth going for the bar as well. Only downside is that with such a open floor plan it can get quite noisy depending on the other diners.

They have been in business for decades for a reason. The waitstaff were friendly, the building was spotless, the food was fabulous!

My first visit and the menu items were so appeasing that I had a hard time choosing. I chose a little variety plate. Huge portions, great quality and prices. The service was out of this world!

Growing up in Texas, most of us had that family owned Mexican joint we ate dinner at once a week - that is El Matador. It has that TexMex comfort food vibe. Great margaritas and enchiladas.

Good food, margaritas, chips and salsa. Really enjoyed the Tex Mex Enchiladas. Had one beef, one chicken, and one cheese. Friendly service.

I really appreciate the quality of the food, and the service was spectacular. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the metroplex.

The best family restaurant in Denton with a well established home feel and amazing staff the actually get your order right are attentive and make you feel welcomed. Eat it Eat it all it's delicious.

Haven't been here in many years & it did not disappoint. Great food, generous portions, hot & looking & smelling good.
Service was OK, like always, prices reasonable relative to the quality and portions of food.
Will return, will be our go to place for Mexican food.
