John Wesley Mercer, MD

Dr Mercer is by far the most conscientious Dr I’ve ever encountered. He dots all the i’s and crosses all the t’s. He sent me to a urologist because my PSA wasn’t acting right and they did find I have early stage prostate cancer. It is very early stage and treatable. Thanks to Dr Mercer I will be ok. I can’t express how grateful I am he is my Doctor.

I've seen Dr. Mercer since 2013 and he is hands down the best doctor I've had. His staff is always friendly and helpful and he always takes the time to really listen to his patients. He's super conscientious about working with a patient and what he prescribes so that unnecessary costs aren't an issue. I recommend him to everyone!

We have had Dr. Mercer for at least 11 years. I never want to go to anyone else. He is the best doctor we have ever found for our entire family. All 8 of us see him. Can't say enough good about him.

I trust Dr. Mercer implicitly. I suffer from an anxiety disorder which I’m sure makes me a particularly challenging patient, Dr. Mercer is always respectful of that. He’s the only doctor I’ve ever had that I’ve felt comfortable with.

I have been going to John Mercer since 2001 and I lived in Wylie. Now i live on Gilmer TX 75645. Approximately 200 miles and wouldn't trade him for the world. Love him to death and all of the STAFF.

We had the most worst experience with the front office staff. Very disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. Our whole family was seeing Dr. Mercer for care and if I could give this clinic 1 star I would. I’m quite disappointed with how they treated myself, my daughter who has Down Syndrome and the low level of care. We were both sick and very ill at the same time, but the front office refused to let us see the doctor at the same time even thought I said they could bill us twice. They claimed that was what the doctor wanted and could not change the policy. So, I had to make two different appointments, two days apart just to see the same doctor twice. When I went to my appt, I asked the doctor why they would do that and he denied he said anything like that. So, I told them I wanted to see a different doctor because I did not like how I was being treated at the clinic and being discriminated. To my shocking surprise, they banned me from seeing any doctor in the Baylor Scott clinics all the way to Garland and Rowlett just because I told them I was going to find another doctor. Very sketchy and unprofessional. We’ve been asking for medical records for months and they refuse to release to our new doctor. Don’t go to this clinic. If you are not Caucasian or have a disability they will discriminate. Dr. Mercer refused to even help with the matter and banned us. If you want a doctor like that, then go see him.

Seems like front desk nurse is Racist,she couldn't hand me a new patient form for the fact that I didn't have an appointment and to top it off they only had 3 appointments at the time,they couldn't take care of me today that's upsetting..
