Harris Methodist Southwest: Labor and Delivery

This hospital is absolutely amazing I have never felt more comfortable and taken care of like I feel right now. They have helped me so much during my healing process it's remarkable Im absolutely Inlove with this facility.

I had an amazing experience
The nurse that was with me from the moment I arrived to be induced (Aime) was amazing, felt like I had a sister with me the whole time. All nurses and doctors were pleasant and made me feel comfortable as this was my first baby and I didn’t know what to expect. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience

The labor and delivery department is fantastic. Absolutely wonderful and caring staff and doctors. I was admitted through the OB-ER and did not expect to stay this long. Every single staff member really worked hard to take care of my unborn baby and myself. The collaboration with each speciality was outstanding and impressive and unearthed all the underlying conditions that had caused my health to deteriorate (yes, it was a list of things!). I am endlessly grateful for each interaction with the staff and felt in great hands at all times. I highly recommend the clinic to mums looking for hospital to give birth.

I had a good experience. Awesome nurses and doctors. The nurse (Sarah) was amazing, very kind and patience. All nurses and doctors were very kind and professional.

Awesome nurses that want to help you with anything and everything that you need! Plus the doctors or amazing too. Great place to deliver a baby and to do postpartum. The cafeteria there is a great place and the food is good and the price for the food is good too!

Dr Irwin is awesome and I had a good experience with both of my daughters 🥰

Staff is incredible! Although the staff is incredible for the men and mommas comfort I would never recommend this hospital! Just keep in mind gentlemen the bed you will be sleeping on is maybe 4 feet wide and 4 feet long(I’m 6 foot 5 in.). Me and the wife have three children now delivering at three separate hospitals. This was by far the worst comfort for both of us. Food is absolutely awful as well. If you can use UT southwestern go for that one! Extremely nice rooms, big tv’s(with the ability to zoom family on the tv), decent couch for the men, much better beds for mom and the food is awesome!”for a hospital” the one off Harry Hines in Dallas is amazing! There’s anything from chicken fried steak to fresh sushi! Plus mom and dad get a free steak and shrimp dinner on the house when you get to postpartum.

My stay was really good until my last day. There was a nurse by the name of Jocelyn who rushed me to go home. Came in my room several times asking when my boyfriend was coming to get me and how long was the wait. She wouldn’t even let me wait until he got there to take a shower so I can feed my baby. She just told me to go into the shower and she’ll watch my baby without feeding him. Then my boyfriend came and she came back in twice about when we were leaving so they wouldn’t have to take me on the first floor and I could go with the nurse that’s leaving for her shift. I had a c section and was supposed to be taken in a wheelchair but didn’t so this nurse could watch me and baby get in the car and go straight home.

It's the best of the HARRIS hospital family! unfortunately that doesn't count for much!

I suppose the staff and facilities are fine, but they are definitely in the money making business. They will say “no problem, your insurance will cover it” and then surprise bill you for $600 (or more). Then they’ll threaten collections and an adverse credit report when you complain even though the law is very restrictive on what they can do with medical bills. Smarmy…

I as a birthing partner for my best friend and while the labor and delivery nurses were wonderful, the reason for the 1 star is due to the post partum nurse we encountered once they moved her to her room. Upon entry one of the first things out of the nurses mouth was to discuss HIPAA related information she had no right to be discussing, much less infront of anyone other than the mother She had an awful attitude and really stressed out the mom and subsequently the baby by inducing undue levels of worry and fear. HIPAA is no joke and I will be filing a formal complaint with the hospital compliance coordinatior and President.

Horrible, most traumatic birth experience ever. Extremely rude nurses. They almost cost me and my son our lives.

Impossible to get ahold of pre-op scheduling. Not even an option to leave a message.
