Peanut Shoppe

After visiting the "Mortar Man," I walked back to my vehicle, and Peanut Shoppe caught my eye. Very narrow store, but it's well worth it. Staffed mainly by family members . Some fantastic old memorabilia inside, including old pictures of past family members.

Cute little shop. Everyone is super friendly and the nuts are great.

First time here form the Seattle area. Very nice people and great customer service!

This place brings back so many memories of my childhood visits to Charleston: walking around town Christmas shopping at J.C Penney, Sears, Montgomery Ward, The Diamond and Stone and Thomas. Our last stop was always The Peanut Shop, so that Mom could get nuts for Christmas baking and party mix. We always got a bag of shelled peanuts and a Coke and ate them in the way back home. I love this place and the people that work there. Great place to go.

A must stop when in downtown Charleston. Delicious peanuts, fresh roasted, and historic shop. Extremely friendly as well

Truly a Charleston must visit. Once you have had their nuts and candies you cannot buy them from a store. Just so fresh and has been in business for over 60 years.

This is a neat little place with delicious candies, popcorn, and nuts. The chocolate covered nuts are awesome. The employees are very nice and helpful. It is difficult to walk by without going in, because the awesome smells pour out onto the sidewalk..mmm!

this is a part of my childhood that is nothing but good memories, the people who run it are always so helpful and nice, and the history of the store is a story in itself, for anyone who grew up around it , take the time to stop by it is wonderful and you will be glad you did.

What can I say about this WV landmark? Do yourself a favour & go to the peanut shoppe. You won’t be disappointed. There’s nothing like a winter day in downtown Charleston,WV & getting a bag of fresh roasted peanuts salted just right & warm. If you don’t want the whole peanut, get some peanut pieces. They also have caramel corn, those big willy wonka lollipops, Spanish mix, pistachios, cashews & everything peanut related. They also have a nice selection of pop. If you’re a old school peanut lover like me, you might remember when they used to have fresh fountain drinks. Sadly, those are long gone but there’s more options to choose from. What are you still waiting for? Get to the peanut shoppe & get a taste of WV history!

The best and freshest peanuts and homemade candy and hot popcorn ever! It is a main stay of Charleston and everyone needs to visit!

This is the best place ever to buy fresh roasted nuts. They treat you nice and have good prices on the freshest nuts. The people that run the place are great too.

This is one of the many charleston shops that can be overlooked very easily,i went in for the first time a couple days ago and loved it,its like stepping into willy wonkas factory, great selection of nuts as well as candied nuts ect. Nuts from a gas station are nothign compared to freshly roasted

I have always loved this store. Everything is fresh and good and the people that work there super nice. I've been going there since I was a child.

I went to get fresh cashews and the aroma from the store is amazing

My grandmother used to take me here in the early 70's! It's a true landmark and everything is amazing!
