Dossett Brian MD

Dr Dossett is my mother's doctor and he is a really good doctor to her. He's very caring he listens to her wants and needs. I would recommend this doctor to anyone. Not sure if he's taking new patients anytime soon though. I love the fact that he doesn't buy into the whole vaccine BS that all the other doctors are buying into.

One of my biggest worries when I moved back home was finding a good physician. I can’t explain how thankful I am to have a doctor, and his team, that take time to individualize each visit.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were thorough in discussing our health concerns. They are very up-to-date on research and methods of treatment.

He saw my wife in August and scheduled a chest X Ray at Fayette County Hospital, (now called Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital). Here about 2 weeks ago she gets a bill for 35% of the chest X Ray charge because Aetna PPO Advantage Medicare says that hospital is NOT in network! The Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon IS in network so she assumed all SBL facilities were...WRONG...so she is stuck with a pretty good bill to pay now. My gripe is they should have made her aware of that BEFORE writing up that XRay order. I called and the receptionist said "We'll take the Blame" but they won't pay the bill. Hospital should have told her as well but they did not either. They blame Dr and Dr is blaming hospital, same old story we've all heard 1000 times.

SO...if you are on advantage Medicare by Aetna and Dr writes you up for Hospital work at fayette...you will either have to make him write you for work at Pana Hospital or St Anthonys at Effingham...OR be prepared to pay the 35% out of network fee. No I dont think thats right and yes he should have made her aware of that but once the service is performed...you're on the hook for the 35% out of network fee. HE WONT TELL YOU THAT HE JUST WRITES IT UP...THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS...IMO if he's writing up the service to be performed at an out of network hospital he should tell you AT THAT TIME and give you other options...I mean HE'S the one that wrote it up....Just want to make sure Advantage Medicare people know that so they dont get stuck like my wife did.

Dr. Dossett was my primary physician but I found a new one after I was told I would have to reschedule my appt because I was $6 short of my copay. My son was also unfortunate enough to have Dr. Dossett as his physician also. Dr. Dossett discharged my son after after he missed a blood clot in my sons lung. He discharged my son leaving him only 3 of his blood thinning pills.
