The Little Arch

Beneath the fluorescents' sterile gaze, A lonely arch, its purpose fades. Once grand, it framed a garden gate, Now cars parade, oblivious to its fate.

Its iron bones, once strong and proud, Bear witness now to asphalt shrouds. Where roses bloomed, exhaust now sighs, And sunbeams dance in painted skies.

The echo of laughter, a distant dream, Replaced by horns, a city's scream. But still, the arch remembers sun, And whispers tales of days long done.

Of children's games and lovers' hold, Of secrets shared, and stories told. And though its world is concrete now, A seed of hope, it somehow vows.

To dream of fields where butterflies roam, And wait for spring to call it home. For even lost in asphalt's gray, An arch can dream, and find its way.

Not the main reason I moved here…but it IS something that catches the eye ! Less crime around THIS arch, must be the fire breathing dragon down the street that keeps them at bay! 😉

A fun little spot to stop at if you’re in Vandalia.

The kids was excited to see the small arch.

When I heard Vandalia had a place called the little arch, I thought wait a minute I gotta see this, well I went I saw, and I'll tell ya, with a little bit of work this would have been awesome, except I heard a lady scream and realized I was still on Brent's property, as in Brent's HoTel, we pray for Brent and his wonderfully trained lady friends, Crystal, Mishelle, Krista, Brenda, Crocky Katie, and Beth...just to name a few that was willing to let me post their names, gals your work will not go unrecognized

Even though I didn't fit in the elevator to go up to the top. It did have a great view of all the restaurants

I mean — you can't park your car under the real arch! Just sayin'..... 😜😎🤙

Its definitely worth the trip to see it.

A little smaller than I expected, but still awesome.

This arch is cool but is in need of repairs and updating. It's in the parking lot of a seedy hotel. Free to visit.
