What a gem this is and the improvements feel both safe and long lasting. Views are sensational and it is great to be away from the tourist throngs associated with the likes of the fabulous Brooklyn Bridge. The cyclists though and Peds need constant watching out for though as they come flying along the shared walkway and (as I can attest to) get pretty stroppy if you impede them in any way! Beautiful spot though and cannot wait for the south side works to be completed.

It is a mountainous presence from the grassy riverside. I think that many people can agree that its presence links not only New Jersey with New York, but it links past and present, East and West, day and night. I could sit and watch the cars and trucks bumble back and forth on it all day. I truly love this triumph of architecture. The curve of the cables and the harshness of the palisades just beyond—atmospheric perfection.

Love the history of this bridge, and I frequently walk or run over it. Great views of the NYC skyline and up the Hudson. I do wish it would be lit up more often!

George Washington Bridge is the link between New York and New Jersey, Actually The photo I took from a different angle from Fort Lee, NJ, So I'm in a peace of mind, If your driving on George Washington Bridge its so traffic all day long, Anyway you can have a nice time from the same place I'm standing right now Under cliff park. There is no way that you can park your car the other side in New York, But in New Jersey it's easier and cheaper. Don't forget to follow my account to discover a new places in New Jersey and United States of America.

It's a place where the beautiful looks of mother nature and engineering are combined, and to me, it's breathtaking.

The new bike path on the Northern side of George Washington Bridge is a marvel and well worth a ride or walk. Nice small exhibitions about the history of the bridge on both sides of the bridge (NY and NJ). This is the bridge that Le Corbusier called the "most beautiful bridge in the world" (of course, this was before the lower deck was added in 1962). The Chief Engineer for the bridge was Swiss-American Othmar Hermann Ammann (1879-1965) who also designed the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, among others.

There's hardly any foot or bike traffic on this bridge. But if you're looking for a quick break from the city, bike over the George Washington Bridge (GWB) to Fort Lee and explore the trails. It's uptown, far away from the tourists attractions. But the cuisine on both sides of the GWB are unmatched. It reminds you that the NYC metro area is a true to form melting pot. Go during sunrise or sunset; the views are amazing. If you're driving, take the lower level. You could car pool to bring toll price down on the way into NYC. Stay to far right when approaching the bridge to take advantage of that. it's free when heading westbound into Jersey.

The new northwalk way is beautiful with amazing views today was a perfect day clear blue skies perfect spring weather. The only bad things is them rude cyclist that just wanna speed their way thru a shared path…

With 200 feet of clearance underneath and a total height of 600 feet, this is an impressive bridge. The bridge was built in 1927 and a lower deck was added in 1962. Not many people walk it but there is a pedestrian walkway, and you can go from NY to Jersey on foot which is pretty unusual. The only dark side to the bridge are the suicide helpline signs every few feet showing messages such as "There was never a night or problem that could defeat sunrise or hope". This is a reminder about the frailty of life and the draw of the void when life gets tough.

Brilliant to walk over, brilliant to walk under! Underneath, you almost fell like your out in the wilderness. Even though your up the upper West side of Manhattan. The coverage makes it seem like you're out somewhere rural!

It's not the easiest bridge to cross. That's why you don't see too many tourists. It looks beautiful from far away especially when it's lit up at night. But when you try to walk across you will quickly realize that it's just a rickety rust bucket. They entire bridge vibrates especially when an 18 wheeler barrels across at 60mph. If you're daring enough you'll make it to mid span and enjoy some of the most gorgeous views of the Hudson. If you make it all the way across, congratulations! You really deserve medal 🏅🥇.

Decided to go for a bike ride across George Washington Bridge. Ended up in Jersey, enjoying the Henry Hudson Drive. Really nice for bicyclists, especially with no cars along a certain section.
34 miles round-trip from Whitehall/Staten Island ferry. Went up along the Hudson river bike path. Enjoyed the views!

Beautiful to look at. Sometimes okay to drive in middle of the night or other quiet moments. Otherwise buy a kayak and cross from Ross Dock.

This is a beautiful bridge which is a hub for connecting I-95 from NYC to New Jersey. If you are driving beware of traffic. If you are walking just like I did then beware from bicycles and it does take a while to figure out how to get on the bridge but once your own you’re good. Overall I would consider this to be one of the best suspension bridges in the USA just because of its unique architecture and nice views.

North bridge, which Google map guided me, was closed and unabled to go in. You should use South bridge 178st.

It took about 30 mins to walk across the bridge but you can see beautiful scenery.

Be careful bicycles and scooters coming from behind.

The most intriguing thing about this bridge is not for cars or vehicles bit for pedestrians and bikers alike. Currently one side is open as a walkway but by the way me of the summer the north side of the bridge will have a newly constructed bike and pedestrian path that will allow you to walk or bike across the bridge free of charge of course and to take in the view of downtown Manhattan and all the way up to Yonkers pier. The only alkway is safe wide and lit up at night and it's the best trial or bike path to use that continues to Jersey or to the opposite direction down Riverside drive all the way to lower Manhattan riding or walking on a organized path with arrows and direction with many amenities in between. This has been active for years but finally soon enough it would be completed and transformed to today's world. Bring your camera your family and a wind breaker because you will be using all three. Welcome to the new GWB walkway and wait till you see the newly constructed north side entrance which is completely parallel to the South side entrance with a gradual loopy incline and views to die for. Enjoy. Here are some pics from the walkway. Message me for more o any questions. I'm here for you

Spectacular with Old Glory. One of the largest American flags (probably the largest) I’ve ever seen! Spectacular! 9/11/2023

It is the only bridge that crosses New Jersey from Manhattan, it is a great experience to cross it, the view is spectacular, It is quite busy with cyclists you must be careful. on the other side you find fort lee, a nice neighborhood to know.
