Dr. Li and all of the staff at Orthopedic and Shoulder Center, along with their Physical Therapy team, are outstanding! Now in my mid 40s, I don't heal like I did when I was in my mid 20s, so I was very concerned about the recovery time for my shoulder surgery, but after extensively reviewing my MRI and X-rays, Dr. Li was confident he could help me with surgery. Due to the excellent work of Dr. Li and his entire team, everything was great and I am back to exactly where I was before my injury!

I have only seen Dr Li for a few months. I had previously gone to McLean County Orthopedics for over a year. I had fallen on my left knee during the winter, causing great pain. After a mri, painful therapy and shots I was told I had osteoarthritis. Still in pain after a year I sought out Dr Li for a second opinion. Went through a round of therapy to strengthen the knee, then Dr Li diagnosed me. I recently had my knee scope in April and a lateral meniscus tear was found. I just completed my post op therapy with great results. Dr Li actually helped me unlike the other office. Around 3 months, vs a year. This is the best I have ever felt. And it was very minimally invasive.

I have nothing but great things to say about this office. Dr. Li is an intelligent, kind, and thorough physician. The physical therapy center has been beyond amazing. They are patient and thorough as well, when it comes recovering from your injury.

Overall I was unimpressed with the office. The front desk staff was not personable and treated helping you as an annoyance. I was told upon scheduling my appointment I would need to obtain all my records and have it for the first appointment, only for it to be retrieved from EPIC and wasn’t needed after wasting time running around obtaining those documents. During my appointment I was given a Reparel Ankle Sleeve to help hold things together. Dr. Li went over his plan and course of action and then stated in the meantime I should wear this sleeve and that someone would come in momentarily. A woman came in put the sleeve on my ankle and then told me I could go check out. There was never a discussion about costs or suggestion alternative more cost affective choices. I received a bill in the mail charging $428.07 for the sleeve when my new patient evaluation was only $214.48. That did not make sense to me so I looked up the brand and the exact sleeve is sold for $48.00. Meaning the office made $363.07 from my insurance in profit and then billed me for $65 for a $48 sleeve making a $17 profit off the sleeve. I chose to go elsewhere after my visit and did not plan on leaving a review. But I feel like this is taking advantage of people in acute medical injuries that don’t always have another choice. If the sleeve was necessary I would have ordered it. I did call the office billing department to elaborate. I was informed that they have a contract with the insurance company where they can charge up to $1,000 for this item and that “Dr. Li understands the financial weight and gives an additional discount”. A “discount”. The office refused to take accountability and suggested that I should have known I could get my medical equipment somewhere else cheaper. I have never been injured in my life nor have I had any medical ailments. This is not common knowledge. Every office I have worked with previously has always been more transparent about costs and has been more patient forward. I feel completely taken advantage of and will not be returning to this office. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the care I have received here. It is clear that making money is more important than good patient care.
