Brownwood Acres Country Store

Reminded me of walking into my great-grandma's old farmhouse! When we visited 4th of July weekend, the shelves were stocked with all sorts of interesting salsa, dressing, mustard, jellies, jams. There was also candy and a few other small toys for kids. Neat property and the cherry jalapeno salsa is really, really good!

What a great experience! Enjoyed by all three generations. Got to play with the carriage during the slower time and had the best-ever fresh donuts on Sunday morning during the rush. Both times were fun. A must-see stop if you're at Torch Lake!

The BEST Cherry/Blueberry Concentrates we love the online store but we also LOVED visiting the store and talking with the wonderful people that work there! A Northern Michigan MUST.

Anytime I am in Central Lake, this is a definite "must stop in" during my stay. They sell a wide variety of condiments with my absolute favorite bread and butter pickles and cherry BBQ sauce. Before you leave, they will have you feeling like a kid again, trying to decide on what kind of old fashioned candy to buy!! You won't be disappointed with their selections!

A wonderful tradition is to visit on Sunday and taste some of the best donuts in the world. They make these the old fashioned way and frankly I've never had anything like them. The people who own Brownwood and the people who work here are all a delight, friendly, helpful. Oh yeah and we always stock up on their delicious mustard and fruit perserves while we're there. Great photo ops, just everything charming and northern sweet.

The multiple generations of family ownership make the Brownwood experience more rich as I have grown up coming to Brownwood for the amazing old-fashioned delicious donuts (Sundays, cash only!) and the fun souvenirs, but I have lots of great memories at the Sunday Flea Market and going to the general store for sweet treats with my allowance money (and now my kids get to do the same). The Kream Mustard is potent and amazing. Lots of tasty cherry products as well. Love this place.

Been visiting Brownwood since the 70s, as long as I can remember. Had a great talk with Jordan, who filled me in on some of the history that I never knew after decades of going "up north" and enjoying the Acres. Definitely worth a stop, especially the cherry butter and cherry bbq sauce! Thanks Jordan.

This place has always had a place in my heart. This place has stood the test of time. The history of the buildings is amazing, and their story is just as great. Was closed over the last couple of years, but newly opened by 5th generation owners. Really excited to watch the new owners bring back some Brownwood classics.

I just want to say that I've had the pleasure of trying and buying the pepper jelly and bacon onion spread 😋 I do my best to buy locally made products and foods. I was in Richmond MI yesterday and purchased these. I would like to continue trying more

One of the coolest historical properties we visited in the Elk Rapids are. Loaded up on some of thier homemade sauces. If your in the area check out this place. Being ran by 5th generation family. A lot of history here!

I've been coming here with my family for years and am very relieved that this didn't close down for good. You have to check this place out. The best jelly and sauce for your side dishes you can find.
