Chuck is an excellent mechanic and honest person to deal with. He has performed brake work, electrical work and tire mounting/balancing for several of our vehicles. All work has been done in a timely fashion and his communication is top notch. He cares about his customers and I have never had tires so perfectly balanced in my 30+ years of vehicle ownership.

Nice and humble person chuck was ready to do work on weekend as I had a problem with my car, he being a nice person accommodated immediately and repaired it with in 30 minutes and was on road again . I recommend him for any repairs when you are vacation on this side .

The brakes broke on my truck while traveling from Wisconson to Michigan. I got as far as Cheboygan and had to pull over to find an after-hours mechanic on a friday night at the height of tourist season. Most were already closed or closing within minutes. Motels that time of year are $300-400/night, so that was not an option, nor was spending the night in the vehicle as I was unprepared. I found Chuck's number in Google Maps and gave him a call. He agreed to meet me in Elk Rapids, where we would have the truck towed to his shop, and he would give me a ride to my destination in Traverse City. When we met up, Chuck arrived with his wife and father in law. This made me much more comfortable, especially since I was uneasy accepting a ride. Come to find out, it was Chuck's anniversary, yet he made time for me and my vehicle. I was blessed to have found his number and even more so that he made time for me and my vehicle. He repaired my vehicle super quick, already had the tow in motion, and charged a fair price. I offered, but he took no money for delivering me to my destination and even picked me up when my vehicle was done. The quality of his diagnosis and work is exceptional, and if I actually lived in the area, he would always be my mechanic of choice. I strongly recommend his services to anyone in need of a mechanic.

Chuck does a great job and has accessible times for repairs. Won't give you the run around. Great work, did my brakes on a weekend when I needed it the most and another shop didn't answer the phone or return calls. Definitely going to keep going back for work in the future.

I could not have asked for better service. My engine was overheating from a major coolant leak while I was with friends in Traverse City over Labor Day weekend. Chuck was my only option, being that every other place was closed for the holiday weekend. He arranged an affordable towing service to take my car from my air b&b to his shop, diagnosed the issue, got parts, and did the labor in just over 24 hours. I seriously can’t thank him enough, I am beyond grateful for his help.

My fiancé and I came up to Traverse city for New Years weekend, we were set to leave on Sunday and right when we left our hotel room to start our 3 hour drive home to the city, my check engine light came on and my car was shaking upon accelerating. We went and had the car diagnosed at O’reily auto parts and asked if they knew any shops open and they just said “No not on Sunday, good luck” we’ll luck was absolutely on our side when we called the only 24 hour place open and Chuck came to our rescue with no hesitation! We received some of the best service from any mechanic we have ever had and impeccable hospitality. We were very far from home and instead of being stranded, chuck & Karen welcomed us into their home and kept us warm and even gave us a hot meal at their table. I would have never expected this kind of hospitality and friendliness that these beautiful people graced us with today. Chuck was kind enough to go pick up parts with us, and fix the issue we were having in no time! Although, there was no rush because we enjoyed every minute being there! Thank you for everything! 10/10 would definitely come back!

Chuck is a hard working, retired Certified Mechanic whose business is in a 2 storey cinder block garage on his property. When my VW Bug broke down and I was desperately searching for someone to fix an electrical problem in my non-American car, and not take advantage of my situation, Chuck was the one who promptly answered my call. He saw to it that I wasn't left stranded and got my car back to me promptly, even working around my time constraints. I don't know enough about cars to judge the quality or price of his service, all I know is my car is running this morning, with no surprizes dramas or delays. From the other reviews for Rapid City, I'd say there are lots of good, honest mechanics in these parts but maybe Chuck's availability and personal attention sets him apart.

Several days later, I continued my vacation and drove a couple hundred miles home. My car continues to work beautifully. Thanks, Chuck!

Chuck was really helpful. He got our tires in stock and got us into his schedule within the same day. My son was leaving on a road trip so I felt so much better to send him on his way with new tires.

He also charged less than the nearest shop quoted me. He actually cares about helping his customers as much if not more than he cares about making money. Truly a good and caring guy.

Absolutely the best service all around!! We were at Elk Lake this weekend when my wife ran over a curve in my Handicapped lowered Dodge Grand Caravan. Our exhaust pipe was completely crushed & the exhaust was not going through the pipe. We called the 24 hour service station which happened to be Chuck at Auto Express. He was a Godsend!! He was very courteous & knowledgeable.

We dropped off the van at his beautifully equipped business late Saturday night. He cut out & re-soldered a new piece on the exhaust pipe & did an oil & filter change and was done by Sunday afternoon. He even straightened a dent on my hood from a previous time as a courtesy. He also checked over the van & made sure that there weren't any other issues. He took his time explaining & showing my wife everything he did & gave her some advice regarding our tires.
