Bear Necessities Fan Shop

Really enjoyed stopping in here on our trip to the University of Maine! Definitely had lots of great options for clothing, gifts, and University of Maine paraphernalia! Go Black Bears!

Tremendously improved from years ago. Much much more merchandise, open throughout games: during hockey intermissions, shop for great items and gifts... Run by the same UMaine Auxiliary Services that runs the UMaine Bookstore, so if they're out of something, there's a chance if you check the bookstore during the day, they'll have similar or the same items. It almost makes up for the Bookstore having no evening nor weekend hours... A shame that Necessities isn't also open when high school and special events are using the Fieldhouse, Alfond, and Stadium... that's the only downside that instead of getting directly from UMaine, folks have to go to other retailers who might not be selling true UMaine merchandise but knock-offs.

Moving it from a 2 star to a 1 star. I bought a New Balance hoodie during the Saturday game against Providence. I thought $89.99 seemed expensive but purchased it anyways and then noticed this past weekend they are now priced at $50. Glad I could give a donation of $39.99 because they were priced wrong. That will be the last piece of apparel I’ll buy at ripoff necessities.
