Fat Daddy's Hot Chicken & Waffles

I came across this restaurant from an article I read a while back! The food and looked and sounded amazing, so I had to drive 7 hours yo check it out! So I tried the original Fat Daddy chicken sandwich to start! I got it extra hot and it was fire 🔥!!! Absolutely 10/10 recommend!!! I will be back to try everything else out as well!

I had a great experience at the Great Lakes Location. The service was excellent! We were torn in between what we wanted and the Cashier gave us a suggestion and it was the right one!! The Chicken Chese fries with mac was a banger!! We got the country heat and yeah I will definitely be back!

This place is an absolute hidden gem and one of my favorite spots to go any day of the week. Food is delicious and the portions are huge!! The Fat daddy sandwich is really good and you can never go wrong with the chicken and waffles just so much flavor. The spice levels are a tad hot so I like to stay around the mild spot. Best part is they even sell Faygo!!!

Just ate from this place for the first time and it is fire!! The hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had. The catfish was tender and crispy at the same time. The Mac n cheese was stellar. And those collard greens… those collard greens… so on point. The fat daddy sandwich is perfect with the coleslaw and sauce. I will definitely be back to eat more of this goodness. Can’t wait to try their desserts too. Thank to everyone working here for putting out good quality and perfectly fresh food.

I would also like to say to the LA person who wrote a review about going to this place on one of the busiest days of the year and expected that, because of that specific BUSY day, that they would get the best food and service. I don’t know what planet you are from but get real. Those are the days that things will be most chaotic and messy. You need to change your review is all I’m saying. lol

It was good. I ordered hot and it was definitely hot, I can't imagine the 2 flavors hotter than hot but I'm gonna try them. I'll definitely get it again.

I got the fat daddy sandwich and was blown away!! The chicken was HUGE!!! I was stuffed after only half. They fries are also excellent! Their Chicken and Waffles are so very good as well!! It took 15 min after ordering at the counter. There are 2 small high top tables. I'm eager to try other things!

Delicious! We got the family meal with 10 mild chicken tenders, cheese fries, and Mac and cheese. It was so much food! Great deal! Everything was super flavorful. The Mac and cheese was nice and peppery. The cheese fries look like plain cheese fries but the seasoning was so good! The chicken although mild was very well seasoned. The pickles on top gave them a nice salt and vinegar taste too. I would definitely come back. Wish it was closer to me!

This place was absolutely amazing. I love hot chicken and have been looking for a good spot and I'm so happy I finally found it! I definitely dug in and ate some fries and one of the sandwiches in my order before the photos but if you're looking for some really good Nashville hot chicken, This is the place to go! The fries are really crispy and good, the chicken was hot, spicy, perfect balance with flavor and heat and the coleslaw is a perfect topper for this sandwich. 10/10 would recommend.

We love Fat Daddy's! In our family, there is something for everyone. I love the Cat Daddy everyone else loves their chicken. Besides tasting great, the portions are big.

Slappin 🔥food is so good here the waffles are homeade chicken is juicy seasoned well Mac and cheese is one of the best I ever had collard greens are delicious hush puppies are off the hook homeade deserts 2 I got banana pudding my favorite... Very good service friendly people and my food was done right on time... Definitely definitely will be back here!!! ♥

Good flavorful chicken sandwiches...the sandwiches are top with the chicken, coleslaw, pickles and their homemade light spicy mayo sauce. Sandwich comes with fries, I substituted for collard greens, they gave me the fries anyway :-) I also ordered peach cobbler and strawberry cake as well.
Chicken sandwich was crispy with balanced seasoning.
Collard greens, I was not too crazy about, tasted like the canned brand Glory collard greens.
Fries were super crispy and delicious!
Peach cobbler I was not too crazy about...the cinnamon was not balanced, contained toooo much.
Strawberry cake was ok, it was from Angel bakery on Fort st in Lincoln Park. I have tasted better.

My absolute favorite chicken spot downriver. Love their extra hot tenders. They are juicy, flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The cheese fries are also great and still stay pretty crispy even after the cheese goes on. Love Fat Daddy’s and im proud to support this business 🙂

This place is all about the quality of the food! It’s not about the ambiance of the four chairs inside. These chicken sandwiches are phenomenal! The fries are even better. Do yourself a favor and goto FatDaddys over Chick Fil A or Popeyes! Unbelievably fantastic chicken!

Amazzziingg! I haven’t had food that’s stopped me in my tracks for awhile and this definitely did. I got the fat daddy sandwich with fries and it was perfection. Will be back forsure

** Fair warning ** mild is more of a medium and hot is on fire. Learned the hard way. With that said sandwiches and chicken and waffles were very tasty! Leave the spice for the sandwiches and make your chicken and waffles country style.. the spice for the waffle Chicken and waffles threw it off for me. With these corrections it's a high recommend.

Black-owned restaurant specializing in spicy chicken. Person behind the counter quickly took our order. I am grateful for his patience as it was our first time. He had plenty of knowledge and recommendations from the menu. I chose catfish with hushpuppies, my husband settled for chicken and waffles at level hot. It was delicious but my husband couldn't stand the heat. Ha! We ate outside at a picnic table they have set up for customers. I thought that was a nice option. Love the fact that they offer detroit made pop FAYGO and desserts. The food was good, we even got an order of loaded chicken mac&chz (pictured) to go.

My wife and I couldn't wait for this place open. So when it did we took the first opportunity to try it out. We were blown away on how good the chicken was. My wife got the mild chicken and waffle. (On the right) I got the 2 damn hot with fries (left). It was amazing. It is a must try place for Nashville hot chicken. The waffle had great flavor as well. We got dessert as well. The banana pudding and German chocolate cake. My wife loved the pudding. I was let down on the cake. Little dry and lacking flavor. If all fairness the cake is from a local bakery not made in house. Still getting 5 stars for the flavor of the chicken. This place is my new favorite chicken place.

Great spot, food was awesome. Lives up to the name! The picture does not do justice to the size of that sandwich.

Great food, better than kuzzos in Detroit for by far. Chicken had a nice crispy coating that didn't fall off of it while you are eating. And was still tasty and not dry at all inside.
