Matador Restaurant

At noon we went to eat a couple of things at this place. I went with a Mexican friend. Food of excellent quality, flavor and perfect temperature. my friend said it tasted better than in Mexican Town itself. Don't hesitate to come, they also prepare special dishes in advance. Very well served portions.

Great food and amazing service, went in around dinner time. The wife got a burrito, and of course had to go for the tacos. Both dinners were great, taste and portions is well worth it. Found us a new spot 😀

This family owned business has been operating for almost 70 years. Delicious authentic food made by 4th generation. The original building is the dining area now..very friendly staff. I will be returning

Best tacos I’ve had IN MY LIFE seriously they are made in a way I’ve never tasted and I’ll be customer for life now. Last night was my first visit. Wait staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean cozy and warm, decorated with beautiful hand painted Guatemalan art. I also liked the white queso cheese appetizer I got.

Got off the plane, hungry. Wanted Mexican. This came up. Had the combination plate. It was fantastic. Best chimichanga I have had in over 30 yrs. Authentic Mexican food. We like going to the Henry Ford several times a year and this will be our new goto place. Lot of food for your dollars. Great atmosphere too.

The food and Service was the best out of any restaurant I have been to thank you Matador restaurant. Always taking care of your customers service needs and continuing to make it your business establishment exceptional. For yourself and your customers.

I've eaten here since 1974. It was sad to see the old owners sell. I've known of three new owners and this current one really made an improvement. I spoke personally with the owner and told him how long I'd been coming. I shared that I had stopped coming because the other new owners made such a change in the food it wasn't worth my time or money. He assured me that he is in contact with the original owner with any concerns and is making sure to make them proud of his new restaurant. I will now continue to frequent this establishment and wish him all the success he deserves.

My nephew (10) while stuffing his face said this is so delicious, you should give them a good review! Lol Tacos, salad, botana, chips & sauces were all excellent. The waiter (new) was great, on the ball.

I was craving some Mexican cuisine and have been going to the Matador for 25 years now. I ordered my favorite Ground Beef and Cheese 🧀 Enchiladas and also enjoyed some chips and Hot Sauce (They have Hot & Medium "Sauces" here rather than "Salsa".) and a cold glass of Sprite to wash it down. Once you're done, grab an order of Supa-pias to take away the "burn" from the Hot Sauce and it's a good dessert, light and covered in Honey and Cinnamon.

Everytime I go I enjoy the food! I used to live up the street on Van Born/Beech Daly and would do both carryout+dine in. Turned my sister onto it and her and her bf eat here at least twice a month! I third-wheel it here n there. Staff is welcoming, food is a healthy portion both plated and carry out. Friendly and inviting service! Food was immaculate! Low expectations considering overall rating but price was perfect for the portions, highly recommend.

So this was my first time eating here. We were greeted by Brooke our waitress. She was friendly and happy to explain the menu and lunch specials. The specials today were Nacho Supreme and kids eat free on Wednesdays.

The prices are reasonable for a family and there is a lot to choose from on the menu. They offer beans and rice with your meal or you can just order without them. Had a great time here today. The service was excellent and during the entire time being there Brooke was all smiles. She stopped by to check on us to see if we needed anything else and how was our food. While there the manager came by to check on us too.

Best food ever. Been going here since I was a fetus. Super fast and delicious. Ask for the chili sauce on your food. They know what it is.

I work in Romulus and am always looking for something new! We got takeout from here today and were pleasantly surprised! Great portions and just overall amazing! The quesadilla was perfect. Will definitely be going back.

We got carry out of the grande taco meal and my husband got the chicken fajita dinner. Their tacos are excellent I got the flour shells they're just fantastic I must have gobbled them up in 10 minutes lol. The atmosphere isn't much to speak of but carry out is awesome. The lady was very nice. All in all very good restaurant we have been coming here for years as we live nearby.

It's two blocks from my house. It's my go to for tacos. Even if it was further away it would be worth the drive. It's been in the same spot since 1954, so you know it's good. The place has changed ownership a couple of times recently and didn't have a liquor license until recently. They are good to go now. I think the food is still good under the new owners. The menu has been updated recently.

Back to what it used to be!!!!!! My family had been coming here since 1977 and when they changed owners a few years ago we stopped coming due to the change in taste. But we heard the previous owner recently came back to teach the recipes and the food is almost exactly what it used to be!!!!!! We were expecting to be disappointed and were pleasantly surprised and so glad the original Matador taste is pretty much back! Our waitress was also so friendly and attentive. Will start coming again 😊
