Southgate Wheat & Rye

The patrons here were friendly from the moment I stepped out of my vehicle. The staff was fast and friendly my sandwich(corned beef/pastrami mix) was HUGE and delicious!

the turkey reuben from wheat and rye is the most iconic deli sandwich i’ve had in my three decades of reuben reviewing. would definitely order again and again.

Their Giant stacked ham is huge and so is the Ruben well worth the trip. Only complaint I had was the pickle was in with the Ruben instead of under the paper so my Ruben was soaked with the juice but usually it's under the paper. BTW that Ruben is so huge it can be shared as half is way more then enough to feed two people unless you are a big eater.

Ordered carryout for my family, the bartender was super friendly and prompt with greeting me and getting me a drink while I waited. I got home and we were missing an entree (not a big deal, we’re all human and mistakes happen). I called, the bartender was super apologetic and offered to have the kitchen make it for me immediately if I wanted to come back. I live right down the road so I was fine with that. I walked in and my food was ready and they gave me a drink on the house for the inconvenience.
All of our food was delicious, which is sometimes not the case when you carryout vs. dining it.

Will definitely be back!!

One of the best corned beef sandwiches I've had in a while and probably the best fried mushrooms I've ever had. On top of great margaritas and wonderful service.

Walked in for a carry out and the server was quick and very helpful. Food was also received quickly.

Awesome bar with an excellent menu, not just your typical bar food. Our sandwiches were HUGE and sooo good with very affordable prices! Our server, Gabby, was wonderful and attentive. Will definitely be back!

I was able to eat 1/4 of that sandwich! Ruben was great! Cajun salmon was just ok. The restaurant is clean and not a lot of tables which is great.

This place was amazing. Food is delicious. Sandwich was huge af. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you stop by.

We came in on Sunday late afternoon, they sat us pretty quickly, we got our drinks and menus. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food is absolutely worth every penny and more. Sandwiches were huge, I got the perch dinner (I’ve been cooking for 20+ years) and it was the BEST perch I’ve ever had. Everyone was really satisfied with their food, so Thank you to the cooks and to our waitress, you guys made our time there memorable!

Seriously, everything you order comes out as a huge portion. You get a lot for your money. Quickly becoming one of our new favorite places for a quick bite and a cocktail. Friendly staff and patrons.

We brought our son here this past Sunday after attempting their Allen Park location and immediately walking out after their rude customer service. Came to the Southgate location instead. Was greeted with a smiling face and told to have a seat wherever we’d like. Sat down and our server immediately came over with menus and to get our drink order. I can’t remember our waitresses name but she was absolutely superb! Wife and I each got the ribeye dinner, and our son got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich! The portions were huge. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Baked potatoes and fries were great. We got Mac n cheese bites and fried mushrooms with ranch and they were awesome as well! Great food and service all around, and will absolutely be back to this location!

The service is great and the food is awesome every time and plenty of it...the drinks are amazing....

Staff is super sexy and very helpful! Always seem to be in a good mood and ready to serve you. Food is excellent, especially the burgers. Must put Crack in it or something cuz their the bomb!!! Beer is always cold and the people are very nice!!!

Everything was outstanding tonight! We had a party of ten and Autumn our server gave us great service. She was on top of everything! The chef came out after and made sure everything was good! I had the chicken breast sandwich and the chicken was juicy and delicious!
This establishment is very clean and they have a great bar and menu with lots to choose from. Can't wait to go back for polish night on Thursday!
