Phenomenal spot to see and interacwith the great lake, Gitchee Gumee

Beautiful spot to take in the lake. A little more secluded than other spots in town. Not a lot of parking.

On your way up around the lake this is a wonderful place to stop and take in the beauty of Lake Superior. With direct lake access and pathways to walking trails leading you to other wonderful spots including picnic and rest areas I would rescind this as a great starting point for a hike, family outing, out of you are just driving by and want to take in the beauty.

One of our most favorite places to visit in Duluth and we love Duluth. We can spend hours throwing rocks into the Lake regardless of the season. We visit regardless of the temperature outside, even if it's only for a few minutes. This isn't a big park and there isn't a ton to do at it but the Lake views make it amazing. It was recently closed to vehicular traffic as there was some erosion occurring. I'm wondering if there is a plan to address some of that or not. We could still walk down to the park.

Great scenic stop over right before scenic road entry at the tip of Duluth. You can get right to the water. Plenty of open space to walk around and picnic. If you dont like the hustle bustle of canal park and want to enjoy the calmness of the lake near Duluth, this is a really good option!

We love to play on the rock beach and collect beautiful specimens! I don't like that you can't drive and park in the park anymore but it's still a great time! Go towards dusk or early in the morning otherwise too many tourists.

Beautiful place to catch a sunrise! I came across this place by accident heading to Pigeon Falls. I had to stop... the view of the sunrise was amazing! Check out the photos.

Always beautiful, love being able to sit on a bench or picnic table. Looking out at Lake Superior gives me a calming effect.

Kitchi Gammi Park is fantastic...the road is narrow but wide enough for cross traffic...There are plenty of places to park your vehicle. A public bathroom. Lake Superior explodes onto the shoreline producing outstanding photography. There are even surfers who enjoy the waves. An excellent place to find an elusive agate. One weekend there were few tourists due to an easterly wind and turbulent waves. On most summer weekends the park is filled with picnickers, agate seekers, and those who simply love the lake and the waves. It's an excellent place to watch lakers and salties. If you come the right week you can watch the Tall Ships.

A wonderful destination for a bike ride. Enjoy the waves or a calm lake surface depending on the weather. Beautiful views during every season.

Taking a break from long day of driving so wifey and me made a snowman... A really ugly snowman!!! We are from Tucson Arizona so you have to excuse us on the poor creation...

Beautiful Park! There's a lot to really explorer here and the views are breath-taking. We found a sheltered spot away from people and the wind and relaxed on the warm, rocky beaches. We found a few agates and a prized Amethyst, what a treat! Include this well known park to your list and find a little piece of shore to relax on and discover in.

Under construction and restoration right now, foot traffic only at this point. Not sure if they are going to redo the road or not. Either way, this stretch of beach has been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Not always the best place to swim because the north waters of Lake Superior are pretty frigid all year round but the rocky shore, playground and picnic areas make it great for outdoor events or a quiet, intimate walk along the beach with someone special. Please, always remember to take care of public parks and areas, clean up the sites you use. If we don't respect it, we lose it.

A map I saw also called this Brighton Beach, on London Road. I love it. I climbed out on the rocks and watched the sunrise. It was well worth the 3 hour drive!

Amazing beach! Love to go on a windy day when the water is just so wavy and watching the water hit the huge rocks! So cool.

Beautiful place...visited in March and walked out onto the frozen lake. Fantastic views and lots of fun! I would imagine a fun place to visit when it warms up some too. My son said it's kind of like a frozen Hawaiian beach! It's beautiful!

Awesome park, pebble beach and large rocks. Good all seasons. Plenty of parking, grills and a few tables. Beautiful views!
