I dined here with my mom on Christmas Eve. The ambiance was lovely, the building, fixtures, and restrooms elegant and tastefully textured, and the music was familiar, classy, and at a volume that didn't interfere with conversation with an elderly person whose voice is soft and hearing not so acute anymore. This is rare nowadays.

I don't think we've ever spent so much on a meal, but it was worth every cent. The service was excellent and the pre fixe 3-course meal superb. Our server Mona was knowledgeable and patient with all our questions, warm, and so graceful. Every local baby carrot and turnip was fresh off the farm, so tender and flavorful, and cooked to perfection. For appetizers, mom had the endive salad with local blue cheese, pears, candied pecans and a syrupy balsamic vinaigrette, and I had a creamy butternut squash risotto with crispy bits of prosciutto and toasted sage leaves. Our entrees were the Beef Wellington in a pastry with fois gras and these tender baby green beans and carrots, and I had the duckling in a green peppercorn sauce with sweet potato mousseline and roasted baby turnips. We were in heaven! The duck melted in my mouth, so tender, with little crispy bits here and there. She enjoyed a chocolate buche de Noelle with a marscapone laced with some espresso liqueur for dessert and I had the vanilla bean panna cotta with a tiny dollop of apricot jam. Serious creamy amazingness and surprisingly neither was too sweet. It's about an hour since we left there and I still feel like I'm floating on a cloud. Totally exceeded our expectations! Bravo to servers, staff, and kitchen for a meal and evening to remember.

Christmas Eve dinner with beloved brother, and they even treated us to an extra dessert (because I couldn’t choose 😛) AND made us these delicious non alcoholic pineapple hibiscus drinks!!!!

Dressed Endives with Local Blue, Anjou Pear, Candied Pecans & Sherry Vinaigrette

Roasted Squash Risotto – Pecorino, Crispy Prosciutto, Sage

Classic Beef Wellington Foie Gras Duxelle Puff Pastry and Haricot Vert

Hudson Valley Duckling with Green Peppercorns, Hakurei Turnips & Sweet Potato Mousseline

Buche de Noel Mascarpone Cream, Shaved Chocolate & Dulce de Leche

Lemon Sabayon Tart Shortbread Crust & Fresh Raspberries

“Eggnog” Crème Brûlée

The whole atmosphere was warm and cozy and festive. We never thought it would be just us for Christmas Eve, but we made the most of it, and I’m so glad we spent it here :-)

Service was phenomenal and so was the food and the grounds (lovely sunset out our window too).

Food was good, with the salad, chicken and cheesecake as highlights. The chicken was a bit dry but flavorful with the farro. The cheesecake was delicious. We saw a photo of the brownie that had a toasted marshmallow on it - sadly this is not what we ended up getting and it was underwhelming. The drink mostly tasted like pineapple juice, sweet and not interesting. Service was nice and friendly, and this restaurant has amazing views. Worth returning, especially for a special ocassion.

My mom and I checked in to the Abbey for a girls' getaway and had the pleasure of dining at Apropos.
I made a reservation over a month in advance requesting a booth, noting that we were dining for a special weekend away. Upon arrival, we were pleased to be seated at what we thought was the best seat in the house!
Our waitress promptly greeted us, noting that we were there for a special girls' weekend.
After ordering a bottle of fine wine, we dined on the Abbey green salad, the citrus & couscous salad, the orecchiette pasta, the grilled NY striploin of beef, and the roasted carrots.
The beef was cooked to perfection and was perhaps the best piece of striploin my mom has ever tasted! The carrots were also a highlight of the meal not to be missed.
Of course we had to have dessert! We had the olive oil cake and the blackberry tart. Pure decadence!
The meal plus the ambiance of the restaurant was a highlight of our getaway! We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Very beautiful views of the hudson river! High class ambiance inside the restaurant, everything is brand new!! The food was amazing and customer service was fantastic. Our server Ramona was personable, attentive, and everything a waitress is suppose to be! They have outside seating as well. Their food is Farm to table style so it’s super fresh :) The Marinated eggplant Panini and Pee Wee potatoes were SOOO GOOD!! We will be back

Suggestion for improvements: Supposedly on Sundays the dessert menu has 1 or 2 items to choose from. More options are needed for the sweet tooth crowd!

We had dinner at Apropos last night and it was a lovely experience. The food was all delicious, the service was superb, and the cocktail hit the spot. The waitstaff was thoughtful, friendly, attentive and every little thing made us feel special. We very much enjoyed the kale Caesar salad and shaved brussels salad, the rolls and lavender butter that came with dinner were very tasty, and the pasta dishes were quite good as well, especially the pappardelle with lamb ragu which was scrumptious. For dessert we enjoyed the matcha tart which was charming with interesting textures and flavors. We have also been here for brunch several times and enjoyed it so it was nice to find that experience elevated at dinner. Bravi!

Unfortunately, when my food was brought to the table, I wasn't capable of thinking about the picture, lol
I had an amazing burger, very tasty, bloody Mari, coffee ☕ and chocolate cake. I was very much satisfied with everything, including beautiful and helpful hostess.

Our family had a wonderful brunch here, on Sunday morning. The servers were very personal and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. I will still get five Stars based on that but just some feedback from a restaurant : the plates for a brunch were way too small they were little 8 inch plates so you could only eat one thing at athe plates for a brunch were way too small they were little 8 inch plates so you could only eat one thing at a time. For a brunch I thought the pancakes, sausage and bacon and maybe yogurt parfait and frttatta should have come out first since those are traditional breakfast items. We were first served the spinach Caesar salad, with the grilled chicken and the fresh Field Green salad, which don't get me wrong was absolutely delicious but it was awkward to eat breakfast foods after Caesar dressing and Parmesan. The coffee was hot fresh and strong and the complimentary churros at the end of the meal were amazing

Excellent fine dining experience that’s far and few outside the city. The location is beautiful and views are spectacular.

The hotel is gorgeous inside and out with history shining through from every detail. Would recommend to family and friends visiting or looking for city getaway.

We really enjoyed our meal with a great seat right by the window. There was a lovely atmosphere with lots of people in the dining room.

This is a good place for a group outing with some larger roomier tables so I will definitely consider coming back with more of our family. We saw some people looking at the space as a wedding venue and when we were walking the grounds I could envision how beautiful it would be for a romantic wedding.

I plan to check out the spa soon for a massages and based on other reviews I’m really looking forward to it!

What a spectacular spot overlooking the Hudson River. A former nunnery, redone to perfection. Perfect spot for that special meal or event. Food was delicious. The olive oil cake was delicious, topped with chocolate chip Gelato and home made pistachio brittle. Very inventive

The atmosphere, the service, the food were just phenomenal! Hands down the absolute finest establishment in the Hudson Valley-bar none. An absolute gem-the view alone is unparalleled.

We went for dinner on Sunday evening, and this was the first time my wife found that truffles(on the scallops) can be not only palatable-but truly enjoyable. I had calabrian chile crusted Hake, and we also shared a plate burrata, which was just fantastic. I couldn't make up my mind on dessert, so we settled for a cognac and an old fashioned-which were worthy substitutes. We can't wait to go back for dessert.

My husband and I just had a lovely dinner here. It’s a spectacular site with amazing views of the Hudson River and Highlands. The service was warm and efficient, and the food was memorable! And they source much of their food and wine from local farms. I had a poached pear and blue cheese salad that was delicious, and the roast chicken was unusually presented, pretty and tasty.

Very nice atmosphere, Hudson River views available, albeit looking through the parking lot was a little distracting. Excellent service, Damien was great.. had the Halloumi appetizer, excellent, Cavetelli was very good (moderate to small portion), half roasted chicken is recommended as well. All in all a very good experience, walked around the grounds afterward, great views and amazing landscaping.

Had a wonderful family dinner with my in-laws at Apropos in late September for their late summer menu. Everything was fantastic - the cocktails (we had quite a few!), food and service. Chef Jared, Chef Brian and their team are so talented, I'm looking forward to returning to Apropos again and again for celebrations and casual dinners. Also, the Abbey Inn & Spa is just gorgeous! A beautiful escape right in our backyard!

Amazing views and great food made from locally sourced fresh ingredients. My first time there was for Memorial day lunch. We were pleased by the beautiful views and amazing food. I went for the Sunday brunch and had the best pankacke I've ever had.
The prices are average restaurant price but the food and vibe is top notch. Great deal.

Everything was DELICIOUS—and we had incredible service, too! Jhonny, our server, was very attentive and gave great recs for what to order. We got the charcuterie board, fois gras cannolis, and grilled halloumi for apps, and for our main courses we all ordered pasta (the cavatelli, orecchiette, and squid ink spaghetti were all incredibly good, so we all ended up stealing bites of each other’s plates). For dessert, the chocolate cake and olive oil cake were to die for! I wish I could give this place 10 stars—they really deserved it. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes!

Apropos is PHENOMENAL!

This restaurant is hands down the best in Peekskill, and one of my favorites in all of Westchester County. You can always count on an exciting, new seasonal menu with lots of yummy local goodness. The signature cocktails and drinks are fun (strong) and really, really good. One of the best espresso martinis, too! I get dinner here regularly, as well as the occasional brunch, and it’s a 10/10 every time. It is pricy, but it’s worth it: you get what you put for! Executive Chef Jared and his kitchen staff are incredible.

Farm to table excellence. We ate there for 1 breakfast, 1 brunch, and one dinner.
Breakfast- pancakes and avocado toast- excellent. Coffee needs to be better.

Dinner- risotto app-amazing; app salad- very good. Main- chicken- very good, lamb- good
Desert, olive loaf- outstanding and eggnog brûlée- very good. Wine was good, had a drink at the bar earlier- bar is nice.

Brunch- quiche was one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve had.. ever. We also had chicken Sandwich which was really good. Pana cota was good.

This is fresh, farm to table food. I would come back for all meals again. Worth it.
